Job summary

GoodSpace AI is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own our backend infrastructure, including a BFF layer that powers the mobile UI. You will architect and implement scalable services using NestJS, Redis and PostgreSQL, and lead a small team to deliver robust systems.

You will set engineering standards, review code, and mentor juniors while collaborating with product and platform teams to drive performance and reliability across the stack.

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Backend Engineer to own our entire backend infrastructure. You won't just write APIs; you will architect a Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) system that drives our mobile app's UI dynamically. You will lead a small team, make high-level architectural decisions, and build scalable systems using NestJS, Redis, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Ownership: Design and build the BFF layer that serves dynamic UI layouts to the mobile app.
• System Design: Architect scalable database schemas, caching strategies (Redis), and background workers (BullMQ) for high-traffic events.
• Code Quality: Enforce strict TypeScript standards, write comprehensive tests (Jest), and conduct rigorous code reviews.
• DevOps: Manage deployment pipelines (Docker, CI/CD) and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
• Mentorship: Guide junior developers and define engineering standards for the team.

Requirements

• Node.js & NestJS: Expert-level mastery. You understand Dependency Injection, Guards, Interceptors, and Modules deeply.
• Database Design: Strong SQL (PostgreSQL) skills. You know how to design for scale, use indexes effectively, and manage migrations (TypeORM/Prisma).
• System Design: Experience with caching (Redis), message queues (RabbitMQ/BullMQ), and microservices patterns.
• TypeScript: Strict typing is your religion.
• Testing: Experience writing Unit and Integration tests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Server-Driven UI or BFF patterns.
• DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).
• Open source contributions or technical blogging.
