Job summary

Times Internet is building a greenfield lending platform. We are seeking a backend engineer with 4–7 years of fintech experience to design the LOS backend, API layer and integrations with bureau, eKYC, eSign and disbursal systems.

You will drive security, data residency, and RBI-compliant architecture in a cloud-native environment on AWS/GCP/Azure, with a strong emphasis on reliability and scalable design.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of backend engineering experience in fintech or lending platforms.
• Strong Java and REST API design.
• Experience integrating financial APIs in production.
• Security focus: encryption, VAPT, OWASP Top 10.
• Cloud-native with AWS/GCP/Azure; data residency requirements.
• Familiar with RBI IT Framework for NBFCs, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the LOS backend architecture and LMS integrations.
• Own the full API integration layer: bureau, eKYC, eSign, disbursal, NACH/UPI AutoPay.
• Build fraud detection integrations: FaceMatch, liveness detection, IP tracking, device risk scoring.
• Set up transactional email and SMS delivery for KFS, sanction letters, borrower alerts.
• Own data residency compliance — all data stays in India; RBI IT Framework compliance.
• Lead DR/BCP implementation and security/pen testing.

About Role:

You're building the engine — LOS backend, LMS integrations, and the full API layer that connects bureau, KYC, eSign, disbursal, and collection systems. The stack is greenfield, the decisions are yours to make, and the output is a production lending platform that real borrowers use.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build the LOS backend architecture and LMS integrations
• Own the full API integration layer: bureau (CIBIL/Experian), eKYC (Aadhaar/V-CIP), eSign, bank statement analysis, PennyDrop, disbursal (Razorpay/Cashfree), NACH/UPI AutoPay
• Build fraud detection integrations: FaceMatch, liveness detection, IP tracking, device risk scoring
• Set up transactional email and SMS delivery for KFS, sanction letters, and borrower alerts
• Own data residency compliance — all data stays in India; implement per RBI IT Framework and DPDP Act
• Lead DR/BCP implementation and security/pen testing

Requirements:

• 4–7 years of backend engineering; fintech or lending platform experience strongly preferred
• Strong in Java; know REST API design inside out
• Have integrated financial APIs (bureau, KYC, payment gateway, NACH) in production — not in a demo environment
• Solid on security: encryption, VAPT, OWASP top 10
• Cloud-native (AWS/GCP/Azure) and understand data residency requirements
• Familiar with RBI IT Framework for NBFCs, or willing to get up to speed fast
