We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services. The role requires strong programming fundamentals, hands‑on experience with modern backend technologies, API development, databases, microservices, and cloud environments.

Experience or exposure to data engineering is a significant advantage, as the role involves working with data‑centric systems, analytics platforms, and data‑intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external applications.
• Build and maintain microservices‑based architectures and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, queries, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Implement secure, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions.
• Integrate applications with third‑party systems, services, and APIs.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture/ design decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Data Engineering, and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and application monitoring.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for backend services and APIs.

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on backend development experience using Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and web services.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices .
• Hands‑on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of application scalability, performance optimization, security, and system design.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Good-to-Have - Data Engineering Exposure

• Experience or exposure to ETL/data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kafka, batch processing, or stream processing.
• Understanding of data lakes and data warehouses, including Snowflake or open‑source platforms.
• Experience working with real‑time data flows and event‑driven architectures.
• Basic understanding of data modelling and analytics platforms.
• Experience integrating backend services with data/analytics applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable, production‑grade backend applications and services.
• Experience working with large‑scale systems and distributed/microservices architectures.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
