Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) specialist in Bengaluru to lead and optimize cloud workspace solutions across Azure, VMware, Citrix, and related platforms. You will troubleshoot complex VDI deployments, script with PowerShell, and drive end-user services spanning cloud VDI, application virtualization, and workplace automation.

• Ability to plan and implement VDI via Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Familiarity with UX monitoring tools such as ControlUP and SysTrack.
• Ability to document implementation guidelines and template-based approaches for opportunities.
• Provide advanced technical support, root-cause analysis, and monitoring of Cloud Workspace infra.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for Cloud Workspace infrastructure.
• Lead implementation and optimization of VDI solutions (AVD, Citrix, VMware, etc.).
• Develop and maintain implementation guidelines and templates for projects.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure enterprise policies and devices are up to date.
• Prepare technical documentation and runbooks for Cloud Workspace environments.
• Deliver ad-hoc training to client IT teams and provide post-implementation support.
• Drive phased migrations and continuous improvement of VDI environments.
• Manage Cloud Workspace labs and keep features up to date.
• Support cross-functional teams (Unified Communications, Directory Services) as needed.

Job Description:

• 10+ years demonstrated strong expert level technical experience in working with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), AWS, VMWare, Citrix, Nutanix Xi Frame


• Strong experience in troubleshooting VDI deployments


• PowerShell scripting is required


• End-user services domain and associated technical expertise in the following areas: VDI, cloud VDI, and Application Virtualization, workplace automation


• Experience with installation, management, operations, administration and support of the hardware and software that provide secure access to the Enterprise Compute systems that require it (e.g., Citrix Metaframe, virtual desktops, Microsoft Terminal Services).


• Solution Planning and implementation of VDI Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)


• Understanding of UX monitoring solutions viz ControlUP, SysTrack


• Develop detailed implementation guidelines, document, process, and use templatized approaches for new and old customer opportunities.


• Provide advanced technical support, root cause analysis, monitoring, and management of the Cloud Workspace infrastructure.


• Manage the Cloud Workspace labs and ensure it's always up to date with the latest features.


• Work with various stakeholders to make sure that the client's policies & devices always up to date and are implemented across the enterprise


• Enable enterprise-wide implementation of Cloud Workspace solutions


• Coordinate with the Unified Communications and Directory Services teams as needed.


• Prepare technical documentation and implementation guides as needed to support the Cloud Workspace environment.


• Provide recommendations for optimization and assist with implementation of any improvements identified


• Ad-Hoc Training for client's IT teams


• Provide post-implementation support services as required

• Develop, document, maintain, and continuously improve Procedures for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Support Services in accordance with Policies

• Test connectivity and accessibility to required environments made available via VDI access on a schedule basis and take corrective action if access to applications is not available via VDI


• Ability to provide technical assistance and subject matter expertise as required by other IT service areas and Third-Party providers for VDI support


• Provide Virtual Desktop technical support using for Level 1, Level 1.5, Level 2, and Level 3 support


• Provide image creation, deployment, and management for Virtual Desktops in accordance with Customer Policies and Vendor Procedures


• Provide deployment for application and Software for non-standard but authorized items


• ITIL Foundation Certification


• Certification(s) from OEM providers (e.g., VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
