Job summary

BCforward is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Administrator to manage and optimize our Azure environment from Hyderabad. The role focuses on availability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS resources.

You will provision VMs, manage networking, implement RBAC/MFA, monitor resources with Azure Monitor, and contribute to disaster recovery planning. Night shift support is required with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years hands-on experience managing Azure environments.
• Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or similar Azure certs preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings; manage VMs, storage, networks, and AD.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage Azure VMs, networks, load balancers, and storage to support scalable solutions.
• Administer Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and MFA; enforce least-privilege access.
• Set up and manage Azure Monitor; create alerts and analyze logs for issues.
• Implement Azure Backup and Site Recovery; conduct DR drills.
• Enforce security controls: firewalls, encryption, threat modeling.
• Develop scripts to automate provisioning, monitoring, and routine tasks.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and recovery plans.
• Lead and mentor junior team members; drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Azure environments
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or other Azure certifications preferred
• Technical Skills:
• Azure Services: Advanced knowledge of Azures IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Proficient in deploying and managing Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, Azure AD, and network components such as VPNs, load balancers, and virtual networks.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python for task automation and resource management. Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• Networking: Strong understanding of IP addressing, DNS, routing, and VPN configurations. Experience with Azure networking components, including NSGs and ExpressRoute.
• Security: Knowledge of implementing and managing Azure security controls such as firewalls, encryption, MFA, and RBAC. Familiarity with conducting vulnerability assessments and threat modeling.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience configuring Azure Monitor and analyzing logs for performance and issue resolution. Ability to set up alerts and notifications for proactive problem management.
• Backup & Recovery: Strong knowledge of Azure Backup and Site Recovery for disaster recovery planning. Proficient in testing restore procedures and ensuring business continuity.
• Cloud Optimization: Familiarity with cost and performance optimization techniques, such as right-sizing resources and leveraging reserved instances.

Job Description

As an Azure Cloud Administrator at BCforward, you will be pivotal in ensuring the availability, security, and performance of our Azure environment. You will take ownership of the organizations cloud infrastructure, leveraging your expertise to optimize and enhance operations while adhering to best practices and cost-efficiency strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure Management: Provision and manage Azure virtual machines, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance. Configure virtual networks, subnets, and routing policies to maintain secure and efficient connectivity. Deploy and manage load balancers, application gateways, and storage accounts to support scalable solutions.
• Identity & Access Management: Administer Azure Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, and hybrid identity configurations. Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to enforce least-privilege access. Configure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and conditional access policies for enhanced security.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Set up Azure Monitor to track resource health and performance. Create and manage alerts to detect and resolve critical issues proactively. Analyze diagnostic logs to troubleshoot and resolve system and application problems.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement Azure Backup to protect critical data and systems. Develop and test disaster recovery plans using Azure Site Recovery. Conduct regular backup integrity checks and recovery drills.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices and manage Azure security controls, including firewalls and encryption. Conduct regular security assessments and apply necessary updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Automation & Optimization: Develop and maintain scripts to automate provisioning, monitoring, and other routine tasks. Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and recovery plans. Generate reports on system performance, security status, and optimization efforts.
• Team Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align Azure solutions with business goals. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adopt emerging Azure technologies.
