Job summary

Cummins India seeks an experienced infrastructure engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of systems and infrastructure solutions in a demanding environment.

You will drive automation, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure performance, scalability, and security while mentoring junior engineers and partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements infrastructure automation for provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management.
  • Leads documentation of system architectures, workflows, and designs.
  • Leads development of system and infrastructure specifications.
  • Participates in design, cybersecurity, and code reviews to ensure security, performance, and standards.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams for seamless integration and deployment.
  • Analyzes system vulnerabilities and implements resilience enhancements.

Job description

Job Summary

Leads the design, deployment, and optimization of systems and infrastructure solutions. Ensures system performance, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and automation. Provides troubleshooting for critical incidents, mentors junior engineers, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and resilient infrastructure solutions. Leads performance tuning, troubleshooting, automation and support of critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs and implements robust automation solutions to streamline infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management.
  • Leads the creation and review of detailed technical documentation, including system architectures, integration workflows, and infrastructure designs.
  • Leads the development of system and infrastructure specifications.
  • Participates in design, cybersecurity and code reviews to ensure solutions comply with architectural standards, security principles, and performance expectations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment and compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  • Analyzes system vulnerabilities and leads implementation of enhancements to strengthen resilience.
  • Collaborates with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and optimal recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).
  • Manages system performance and reliability through continuous monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Proactively monitors system health, performance trends, and utilization metrics to identify opportunities for optimization, enhance performance, and improve the efficiency of business processes.
  • Leads the resolution of complex infrastructure and system issues across multiple environments.
  • Leads performance monitoring and capacity planning efforts across multiple systems or platforms.
  • Partners closely with vendors and cross-functional teams to plan and execute complex integrations.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
