Job summary

Foundit is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support and automate the enterprise AWS platform. The role covers compute, networking, storage, IAM, security, governance, and DR, with a strong emphasis on automation and collaboration with engineering, operations, and security teams.

The candidate will use Terraform, Python, AWS CLI, and CloudFormation to automate platform capabilities, support hybrid connectivity, and ensure compliant, cost-effective cloud solutions across DevOps environments.

Qualifications

• 3 years AWS public cloud experience, enterprise/financial services preferred.
• Experience with AWS technologies including backup/recovery, networking, IAM, security groups, and logging.
• Experience with VPC design, subnets, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, firewall concepts.
• Experience deploying production AWS environments and operationalizing cloud projects.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Python, AWS CLI, SDKs and CloudFormation where applicable.
• Experience with CI/CD and SDLC tools (GitLab/GitHub).
• Collaboration with security, operations, engineering teams to deliver complete AWS solutions.
• 3 years SDLC/DevOps lifecycle management experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and automate the enterprise AWS platform for reliability and governance.
• Partner with engineering, security, operations and app teams to enable secure cloud adoption.
• Implement platform resources via IaC and scripting for repeatable capabilities.
• Design and support networking, storage, compute, and access controls in AWS.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics and KPI reporting.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• The AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for operational support maintenance automation and continuous improvement of the enterprise AWS platform
• This role requires technical proficiency across AWS compute networking storage IAM security governance disaster recovery and operational logging as well as the ability to partner with engineering operations security enterprise SDLC and application teams to enable secure and efficient cloud adoption
• The role acts both as a builder and as a support mechanism for customers handles competing priorities in a dynamic environment and supports infrastructure modernization initiatives
• Cloud engineering and operations via automation and other means implement platform related AWS resources including certificates keys storage compute network resources IAM access controls and operational logging
• Infrastructure design and deployment support private and public cloud patterns networking connectivity storage virtualization and access control for enterprise AWS environments
• AWS networking and hybrid connectivity support VPC subnet routing firewall Direct Connect VPN Transit Gateway and hybrid connectivity patterns that integrate AWS with existing customer networks
• Infrastructure as Code and scripting use Terraform Python AWS CLI SDKs and enterprise CI CD tools to automate repeatable platform capabilities and support applications across the DevOps landscape
• Performance metrics monitor establish and report key performance indicators that promote success factors for the cloud platform and broader software portfolio
• Risk audit and compliance manage audit requirements remediate findings communicate risks and support compliance across AWS platform services
• Disaster recovery implement support and test disaster recovery plans for AWS platform services and DevOps tools
• Change release management use ITIL practices and tools such as ServiceNow to improve operational discipline change control release quality and service efficiency
• Customer enablement partner with business application security operations engineering and architecture teams to deliver secure resilient compliant and cost effective AWS solutions

Technical Requirements:

• 3 years AWS public cloud experience preferably in enterprise or financial services environments
• Experience with AWS technologies including backup and restore disaster recovery networking security groups network ACLs troubleshooting operational logging storage compute and access control
• Experience with AWS network design including VPCs subnets route tables Transit Gateway Direct Connect VPN connectivity firewalls security groups and cloud security constructs
• Demonstrated experience supporting production AWS deployments and operationalized cloud projects
• Demonstrated experience with AWS automation and coding technologies including AWS CLI Terraform Python SDKs and CloudFormation where applicable
• Experience with Terraform deployments using GitLab GitHub or comparable enterprise CI CD and SDLC tools
• Experience working with security operations engineering platform and application teams to deliver complete AWS solutions
• 3 years of experience in enterprise software development lifecycle management
• 3 years of experience in software development build release management and change incident management
• 2 years of systems administration experience
• Experience creating and maintaining operational runbooks
• Participation in Agile Scrum best practices and methodology
• Achieved one public cloud Associate level certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or equivalent

Additional Responsibilities:

• Deep knowledge and experience in software support or development
• Banking or financial services experience
• Intermediate understanding of industry cloud and AWS concepts and services such as XaaS IAM IaaS serverless disaster recovery DevOps server storage and networking
• Ability to be flexible adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure with a calm demeanor
• Self starter who demonstrates initiative and can work independently with limited supervision
• Effective collaboration skills across organizational disciplines and strong verbal written presentation and technical documentation skills
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS specialty certification preferred
