Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced cloud and DevOps engineer to design and operate Kubernetes-based container platforms on AWS EKS. The role emphasizes scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architectures, with strong emphasis on IaC and automation.

You will lead deployment patterns, automation, and collaboration with development teams to optimize applications and CI/CD pipelines. A Linux background and scripting skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS compute stack (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda) and storage services (S3, EBS, EFS).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, and operations.
• Strong Linux systems administration background with RHEL/Ubuntu or similar.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python) for automation.

Job description

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS compute stack (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Auto Scaling) and storage services (EBS, EFS, S3, FSx, Glacier, Storage Gateway)
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures with focus on scalability, compute & storage optimization, security, and cost efficiency
• Strong understanding of AWS networking (VPC, Subnets, Security ACLs), IAM, infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation/Terraform), and security best practices
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, and operations
• Proficiency with container orchestration including pod scheduling, service mesh, ingress controllers, and cluster autoscaling
• Experience with Helm charts, Kubernetes operators, and GitOps workflows
• Knowledge of container security, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Strong Linux systems administration background with expertise in RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar distributions
• Advanced shell scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and infrastructure management
• Solid understanding of Linux networking, storage permissions, security hardening, and performance tuning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (AWS Code*, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and tools
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Understanding of genomics or bioinformatics workflows is a plus
