Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Database Administrator (DBA) with 5-10 years of hands-on expertise in database management, particularly on AWS platforms. The role involves ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of our databases, along with supporting migration, replication, and recovery processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable database solutions on AWS tailored for financial applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and data analysts for optimal database design and performance.
  • Implement and manage MySQL and PostgreSQL replication, backup, and recovery solutions to meet data integrity and compliance standards.
  • Perform migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal operational disruption, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance metrics and queries.
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to enforce security measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR and PCI DSS.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Stay updated on emerging AWS technologies and industry trends impacting database architecture and performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in database development and administration, preferably in fintech or financial services.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases on AWS, with experience in Amazon RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB.
  • Deep understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance in fintech.
  • Experience managing migrations, upgrades, and patches in AWS environments with high availability and data integrity.
  • Knowledge of financial data models, transaction processing, and reporting systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MySQL 5.7+ and PostgreSQL 14+ DBA activities.
  • Knowledge in AWS Redshift and DMS services.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra, and data warehousing solutions like Redshift.
  • Knowledge of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of financial regulations such as KYC, AML, PSD2 and their impact on data management.
