Job summary

Zensar in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced AWS DBA to oversee database environments, implement Terraform-based IaC, and automate provisioning, patching, backups, and DR. You will ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance while collaborating with DevOps and security teams.

Qualifications

• DBA with AWS cloud experience and Terraform automation.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Aurora in AWS.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOC and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with backups, DR, monitoring and performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and containerized workloads.

Job description

• Administer and support databases on AWS (RDS, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, backup, recovery, and monitoring processes.
• Ensure database security, compliance, encryption, and access controls in line with financial industry standards.
• Manage database performance tuning, capacity planning, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Application, and Security teams for cloud-native deployments.
• Support production incident management and root cause analysis for database-related issues.

• Strong experience as a DBA in AWS cloud environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Aurora databases.
• Knowledge of AWS services: RDS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, KMS, Lambda.
• Scripting experience using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with backup/recovery, HA/DR, monitoring, and performance tuning.

• Experience in Credit Card, Banking, Payments, or Financial Services domains.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOC, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and cloud migration projects.
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Database Specialty, or SysOps) preferred.
