Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced AVP in Mumbai to join the WPB team, focusing on cost execution and performance management. The role oversees cost monitoring, drives strategic cost initiatives, and collaborates with Finance, Strategy, and Channel teams to optimize profitability.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of relevant experience (CA/MBA welcomed) and strong analytical, communication, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Postgraduate with 8–10 years of relevant experience or CA / MBA with 5–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong logical, analytical, conceptual, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Cost for the IWPB business including Direct and Indirect Cost.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction across Channels and Products.
• Track Cost Savings initiatives on a fortnightly basis.
• Drive Strategic Cost Management initiatives and reduce per unit cost.
• Provide insightful data to enable delivery of business objectives across products and channels.
• Liaise with FIN / Strategy & Planning / Business Teams on ROP / CSP and drive plans and projections.
• Maintain strong relationships with Marketing, Finance, BI, Analytics and Information Management teams at various levels.
• Track Vendor Management for IWPB across all Products and Channels.
• Support Network Optimization initiatives.
• Handle other projects as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities

• Monitor Cost for the IWPB business which includes Direct and Indirect Cost.
• Identify areas of opportunity for reduction in cost across Channels and Products
• Track Cost Savings initiatives on fortnightly basis
• Drive Strategic Cost Management Initiatives, reduction in per unit cost
• Track performance and work with Channel / Product owners to oversee the identification of opportunities to reduce costs and invest in areas which will result in increase their sales and profitability through improved targeting and best-in-class service. The role-holder should provide insightful data to enable the delivery of the business objectives in the most effective way.
• Liaise with FIN / Strategy & Planning / Business Teams on ROP / CSP, strategic planning, etc., as guided by the IWPB COO, to draft plans and projections and drive agreement on the same across products and channels
• Maintain strong relationships with key partners - Marketing, Finance, BI, Analytics and Information Management teams, at a country, Regional and Group level
• Tracking of Vendor Management for IWPB across all Products and Channels.
• Network Optimization
• Accountable for any other project which is assigned from time to time

Qualifications
