Job summary

Standard Chartered India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our technology team. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, and Hibernate, while implementing microservices and AI-assisted workflows.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in agile sprints, and drive performance optimization, security, and documentation. Strong DevOps experience with CI/CD and cloud platforms is required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong Java development experience (Java 17+) and Spring ecosystem expertise.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices architectures with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL DBs, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and code-quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
• Lead microservices architecture discussions and drive technical strategy.
• Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Azure/Microsoft stack).
• Incorporate AI-assisted tools to improve design, reviews, and documentation.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our technology team. This position requires a professional with strong expertise in Java development, microservices architecture, performance optimization, and modern AI-assisted development practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications while leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Spring Data JPA and Hibernate ORM, including entity modelling, transaction management, query optimization, and database interaction patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy discussions
• Use AI tools to accelerate solution design and technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Participate in agile development processes and sprint planning
• Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (ADO – MSAzure)
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into development workflows while maintaining security and compliance
• Document technical designs, processes, and system architecture
• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications using core Java technologies, in Spring Data JPA and Hibernate ORM
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions following industry best practices
• Develop and optimize workflow automation using Camunda BPM platform
• Design and implement efficient database solutions using SQL and performance tuning techniques
• Conduct performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of applications and systems
• Leverage AI tools like Claude for code generation, optimization, and problem-solving
