Job summary

Responsibilities

• Governance, risk management and overall cybersecurity posture for the bank.
• Regulatory governance and reporting to risk management executive or MD & CEO ensuring independence from IT delivery teams.
• Ensure compliance with RBI, CERT-In, and IDRBT mandates.
• Manage Cyber Security Operations Centre (C-SOC) and incident response playbooks.
• Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, log monitoring, encryption standards and key management.
• Collaborate with CIO/CTO for secure deployments and third-party audits; promote cybersecurity awareness.

We are looking for Chief Information Security Officer ( CISO ) for co operative schedule bank with minimum 10 yrs experience in banking sector preferred.

Responsibilities

In an Scheduled Urban Co-operative Bank (UCB) , The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) serves as the primary internal custodian responsible for governance, risk management, and the overall cybersecurity posture of the institution. As Per RBI guidelines (Cybersecurity, Technology: Risk, Resilience and Assurance Framework Directions), the CISO bridges technical teams and executive management to protect the bank against digital threats.Key responsibilities include:Regulatory Governance & ReportingIndependent Reporting: Reports directly to the risk management executive or the MD & CEO, maintaining structural independence from IT delivery teams like the CIO/CTO to prevent conflicts of interest.Board & Committee Updates: Submits a quarterly review of cybersecurity preparedness to the IT Strategy Committee or Board, immediately escalates critical vulnerabilities and incidents, and serves as the member secretary for information security committees.Compliance: Ensures alignment with mandates from the RBI, CERT-In, and IDRBT.Operational Security & C-SOC ManagementC-SOC & Incident Response: Manages the Cyber Security Operations Centre (for higher capability tiers like Level IV), crafts incident response playbooks, and reports significant cyber incidents to the RBI via the DAKSH platform within 6 hours.Security Controls: Coordinates Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Testing (VAPT), and oversees log monitoring, encryption standards, and key management.Strategy & Risk MitigationCollaboration & Audits: Collaborates with the CIO/CTO for secure deployments, audits third-party vendors and fintech partners, and promotes employee cybersecurity awareness.
