Job summary

Ittiam in Bengaluru is seeking an Automotive Infotainment Engineer to design, develop and integrate software for next‑gen IVI systems. You will work on multimedia frameworks, connectivity and system integration to deliver high-performance infotainment.

Experience in C/C++, embedded systems, Linux/QNX/Android platforms, and hands-on hardware bring-up is required. You will collaborate across teams and may mentor junior engineers as the product matures.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of relevant automotive IVI experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and embedded software.
• Familiarity with Linux, QNX or Android-based platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software components for Automotive Infotainment (IVI) systems.
• Perform system bring-up on new automotive hardware, BSP integration and driver/middleware work.
• Integrate and optimize multimedia, connectivity, and system services in the IVI stack.
• Develop and debug features like Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Miracast and smartphone connectivity.
• Support validation, debugging and issue resolution during development and integration.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Infotainment Engineer to design, develop, and integrate software components for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. The engineer will work on multimedia frameworks, connectivity technologies, and system integration to deliver reliable and high-performance infotainment solutions for automotive platforms.

Required Experience:

2 – 8 Years

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Experience with embedded systems development
• Familiarity with Linux or QNX or Android based platforms
• Understanding of multimedia frameworks and audio/video streaming
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of Miracast, CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless projection technologies
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience with automotive SoCs (Qualcomm, TI, NXP, Renesas, etc.)
• Experience with system bring-up on new hardware platforms
• Experience with performance optimization and low-level debugging

Preferred skills:

• Familiarity with multimedia codecs (AAC, H264, etc.)
• Knowledge of Bluetooth profiles (A2DP, BAP, etc.)
• Understanding of automotive software architecture and integration flows
• Ability to understand hardware–software interaction
• Strong system-level debugging and troubleshooting skills

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software components for Automotive Infotainment (IVI) systems
• Perform system bring-up and board initialization on new automotive hardware platforms, work with Board Support Package (BSP) components including bootloader, kernel configuration, device drivers, and middleware
• Integrate and optimize multimedia, connectivity, and system services in the infotainment stack.
• Develop and debug features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Miracast, audio/video playback, and smartphone connectivity.
• Support system validation, debugging, and issue resolution during development and integration phases.
• Candidates may be expected to lead product development in a year or two with additional responsibilities:
  • Mentoring a team of two or more young engineers
  • Front-ending customer interactions based on need
  • Building customer relationships and trust for new and existing products
