FIS Solutions (India) Private Limited - Pune is seeking a Lead Engineer Testing to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of tax information reporting solutions used across the financial services sector.

You will drive manual and automation testing, develop Selenium automation with Java, and create test plans while collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC. This role offers growth in fintech and modern testing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
• Hands-on testing of web-based applications, both manual and automated.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver automation using Java.
• Familiar with REST/SOAP API testing and SQL data validation.
• Proficient in Unix/Linux for logs and debugging, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer Testing, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of critical tax information reporting solutions used across the financial services industry. You will drive both manual and automation testing initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software throughout the development lifecycle. In this role, you will contribute to test strategy, defect prevention, automation framework enhancement, and continuous quality improvement. Success is measured through effective test coverage, automation adoption, reduced production defects, and reliable product releases.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform end-to-end manual and automated testing for web-based applications to ensure product quality and business compliance.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain scalable Selenium WebDriver automation scripts using Java.
• Create and execute functional, regression, integration, and API test scenarios to validate application behavior.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Validate REST and SOAP services using Postman and SoapUI, ensuring accurate integrations and data exchange.
• Perform database validation through SQL queries, data verification, and backend testing activities.
• Analyze application logs and troubleshoot issues in Unix/Linux environments to support defect resolution.
• Support CI/CD processes through Jenkins, Git, Maven, and automation execution within release pipelines.
• Prepare comprehensive test plans, test cases, test data, and execution reports to support delivery objectives.
• Participate in defect management, root cause analysis, production validation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in software testing with strong expertise in manual testing of web-based applications.
• Hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver automation using Java.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks, including Data-Driven, Hybrid, and Page Object Model (POM) frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test methodologies, and Agile development practices.
• Practical experience with REST and SOAP API testing using Postman and/or SoapUI.
• Strong database testing skills, including writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
• Proficiency working in Unix/Linux environments, including log analysis, troubleshooting, and command-line operations.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps-driven testing practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud-native application architectures.
• Exposure to Artifactory and modern DevOps toolchains and practices.
• Understanding of security testing and non-functional testing methodologies.
• Experience leveraging GenAI-assisted testing tools, AI copilots, and prompt engineering techniques.
• ISTQB Certification.
• Selenium Automation Certification.
• Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• GenAI or AI-related certifications.
• Domain knowledge of financial services, tax reporting, or regulatory technology solutions.
