Job summary

Sunovaa Tech seeks a QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test cases for Java-based desktop applications. You will create and maintain automation scripts using Squish and JavaScript, and integrate test suites with GitLab CI/CD for continuous testing.

You will perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing, develop comprehensive test plans, identify defects, and collaborate with developers for root cause analysis in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 35 years of experience in Software Testing/QA Automation.
• Hands-on automation testing for Java-based desktop applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Squish.
• Experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of STLC, QA methodologies.
• Experience with Selenium or Robot Framework is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Python scripting preferred.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication for global teams.
• B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT), MCA, or M.Sc. (CS/IT).

• Identify, log, track, and verify defects while collaborating with developers for root cause analysis and resolution.
• Integrate automated test suites with GitLab CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Document test results, prepare test reports, and ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Continuously improve test automation frameworks, testing processes, and software quality.
• Work closely with cross-functional and international teams to deliver high-quality software releases.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 35 years of experience in Software Testing/QA Automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Automation Testing for Java-based desktop applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and automation frameworks such as Squish (preferred).
• Experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Verification & Validation, and QA methodologies.
• Experience with Selenium, Robot Framework, or similar automation tools is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Python scripting is preferred.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in global teams.
• B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT), MCA, or M.Sc. (Computer Science/IT).
• ISTQB Foundation Certification is an added advantage.
