Responsibilities

Required Skills & Competencies

Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems Strong understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems. Experience working with sensors, actuators, drives, and related automation equipment. Sound knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control circuits. Knowledge of drives and power electronics is considered an advantage. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in challenging operational environments and under time-sensitive conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset. Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels domestically and internationally.

The Role

The Automation Service Engineer is responsible for executing commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and service activities related to automation and electrical systems onboard vessels and marine equipment. As part of the IHC India service team, the Automation Service Engineer contributes to the successful delivery of new build projects, system upgrades and service interventions while supporting the reliability and performance of vessel automation systems.

• 8+ years of relevant experience in automation, commissioning, field service or marine engineering environments.
• Proven experience within the maritime industry is essential.
• Practical experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms in operational environments.
• Experience with vessel automation systems, marine electrical systems or dredging equipment will be considered an advantage.
• Willing to travel internationally as required for business needs.
