Job summary

Ascendion Engineering is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 4+ years of experience to design and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Java/Python, and shell scripting. You will validate UI, APIs, and databases, and contribute to CI/CD and test documentation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality across releases, implement scalable test strategies, and help improve automation coverage and efficiency.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in any relevant stream.
• 4+ years of experience in QA automation.
• Strong programming in Java or Python and shell scripting.
• Exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with database queries and Linux environment.
• Experience in testing Backend, APIs and web UI applications.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Solid understanding of AWS services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).
• Experience with test management tools like Jira and TestRail; familiarity with agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites using Playwright and shell scripting.

• Contribute to testing documentation, standards, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and maintainability.
• Propose new approaches to enhance automation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Document design, steps, and usage of automation workflows; provide runbooks for maintainability.
• Document and track test artifacts in Jira and source control; maintain test development tools.

• Experience in JMeter or any other performance testing tools.
• Solid understanding of AWS services
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) and bug tracking systems & familiarity with agile methodologies
