Job summary

Optimar Precon in Delhi is seeking a Senior Engineer to own 2D AutoCAD detailing across architectural, structural, and MEP scopes, and to serve as the internal standard-bearer for CAD conventions and the firm's detail library.

The work spans architectural and structural CAD drawing, CAD-to-BIM conversion, and coordinated multi-discipline drafting support for our construction and contracting clients, with high attention to accuracy and consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of AutoCAD 2D detailing experience with strong command of CAD tools and layer standards.
• Owning CAD standards development and enforcing them across drafting teams.
• Experience across architectural, structural, and MEP drawing sets with multi-discipline coordination.
• Experience producing accurate, field-verified, and as-built drafting for new construction or renovations.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-precision 2D AutoCAD drawings spanning architectural, structural, and MEP scopes across client projects.
• Translate design intent, field surveys, and existing-condition data into accurate, coordinated drawings.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain the company's AutoCAD standards (layers, line types, title blocks, plot styles, layer/xref management across disciplines).
• Build and govern a reusable detail library covering architectural, structural, and MEP detailing across client project types.
• Support CAD-to-BIM conversion and coordination workflows with the BIM team, ensuring drawing accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure drawing quality meets a standard suitable for client presentation and delivery.
• Collaborate with project engineers, BIM coordinators, and field/client teams (US and international) to keep drawings current and accurate.
• Mentor and audit junior drafters for standards compliance across disciplines.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on AutoCAD 2D detailing experience, with strong command of AutoCAD tools, blocks, xrefs, and layer standards
• Demonstrated ownership of CAD standards development (not just usage) — building and enforcing standards across a drafting team
• Working exposure across architectural, structural, and MEP drawing sets (multi-discipline coordination experience strongly preferred)
• Experience producing accurate, field-verified, and as-built drafting for new construction or renovation projects
• High attention to detail and accuracy across complex, multi-discipline drawing sets
• Engineering degree with good verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred

• Prior experience on international projects, particularly UAE/GCC-based construction or consulting projects
• Exposure to CAD-to-BIM conversion, BIM coordination, or clash detection workflows
• AutoCAD scripting or dynamic block experience for standards automation
