Job summary

Sentient - An Ascend Company in Hyderabad is seeking a full-time audit professional to be the main client contact for US audit engagements, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables and smooth day-to-day engagement operations.

You will work on engagements in the Commercial - Hospitality & Other sectors, handling Reviews, Audits and Compilations, while leading teams, coordinating workflow, and upholding GAAP/GAAS standards in collaboration with US and India-based colleagues.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Articleship with other Big4 or mid-tier accounting firms.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in US Audits for qualified candidates.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in US Audits for non-qualified candidates.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS.
• Proficiency in using various audit tools and applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a client/ engagement and deliver high-quality work as per the audit methodology and client expectations.
• Demonstrate understanding of audit methodology while performing procedures with audit tools.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with the client/ engagement team.

About the role:

As a full-time audit professional, you would be the main point of contact from Sentient for the tasks assigned by the client/ engagement teams and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of deliverables along with managing day-to-day operations of those client/ engagements. Responsibilities include:

This role primarily focuses on clients in the – Commercial- Hospitality & Other organizations. You will be involved in various engagement types, including Reviews, Audits, and Compilations, ensuring thorough and compliant execution of each engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a client/ engagement and deliver high-quality work as per the audit methodology and in line with the client/ engagement team expectations.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of aligned client/ engagement and audit methodology while performing various procedures, along with knowledge of audit tools to make execution/ review more efficient and meaningful.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with the client/ engagement team.
• Proactively discuss workflow management with the client/ engagement team, allocating juniors to the assigned work and monitoring performance against standards. Monitor utilization for self/ team, budget to actuals, and other operational matters.
• Demonstrate professionalism, competence and clarity of communication when dealing with the client/ engagement team.
• Identify opportunities to improve the scope of work.
• Standardize execution/ review processes along with leveraging best practices across one’s aligned client/ engagements or beyond.
• Motivate and lead team members, identify and foster key talents, coach and supervise team members.
• Be responsible for various operational matters related to client/ engagements aligned.
• Lead by example.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Articleship with other Big4 or mid-tier accounting firms
• Qualified candidates - 2+ years of relevant work experience in US Audits
• Non-Qualified candidates - 3+ years of relevant work experience in US Audits
• Deep knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
• Proficiency in using various audit tools and applications
