Job summary

Yatharth Super Speciality Hospitals in Uttar Pradesh seeks an Obstetrics & Gynecology Senior Resident to assess and treat patients across OPD, IPD, Emergency, and Labour Room. You will assist in complex surgeries, manage high-risk pregnancies, and contribute to academic activities with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds an MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology with 3 years of post-qualification experience, and is registered with the NMC/State Medical Council.

Qualifications

• MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology from an NMC-recognized institution.
• Valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
• 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Senior Resident.
• Sound knowledge of obstetric and gynaecological clinical practices.
• Competency in Labour Room management and obstetric emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage obstetric and gynaecological patients in OPD, IPD, Emergency, and Labour Room.
• Perform detailed clinical examinations and formulate treatment plans under consultant supervision.
• Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
• Assist and independently conduct normal vaginal deliveries as per competency.
• Assist consultants in Caesarean sections, laparoscopic procedures, hysterectomies, and other surgeries.
• Manage obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, including ectopic pregnancy, PPH, eclampsia, miscarriage.
• Conduct ward rounds and monitor admitted patients; evaluate fetal well-being with CTG.
• Interpret labs, ultrasounds, and diagnostic findings; provide pre/post-operative care.
• Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, options, contraception, and pregnancy care.
• Coordinate with Anaesthesia, Neonatology, Radiology, Blood Bank, ICU, and other teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and labour records; participate in audits and CMEs.
• Participate in night shifts, on-call schedules, and departmental academic activities.

Role & responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage obstetric and gynaecological patients in OPD, IPD, Emergency, and Labour Room.
• Perform detailed clinical examinations and formulate appropriate treatment plans under consultant supervision.
• Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
• Assist and independently conduct normal vaginal deliveries as per competency.
• Assist consultants in Caesarean sections, laparoscopic procedures, hysterectomies, and other major and minor gynaecological surgeries.
• Manage obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, including ectopic pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, miscarriage, and acute pelvic conditions.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor admitted patients for clinical progress.
• Evaluate fetal well-being using CTG and other obstetric monitoring tools.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, ultrasonography reports, and diagnostic findings relevant to patient management.
• Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, pregnancy care, contraception, infertility, and preventive women's healthcare.
• Coordinate with Anaesthesia, Neonatology, Radiology, Blood Bank, ICU, and other specialties for comprehensive patient management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, labour records, operative notes, discharge summaries, and electronic medical records.
• Participate in emergency duties, night shifts, and rotational on-call schedules.
• Ensure adherence to NABH standards, infection prevention protocols, patient safety guidelines, and hospital policies.
• Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, journal clubs, clinical audits, and case presentations.
• Assist in mentoring Junior Residents, Interns, Nursing staff, and medical students whenever required.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance indicators.
• Maintain ethical medical practice, patient confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times.

Preferred candidate profile

• MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from an NMC-recognized institution.
• Valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
• 03 years of post-qualification experience as a Senior Resident.
• Sound knowledge of obstetric and gynaecological clinical practices.
• Competency in Labour Room management and obstetric emergencies.
• Exposure to laparoscopic and open gynaecological procedures during residency.
• Strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills.
• Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and emergency duties.
