Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Pathankot, India seeks an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee PM, budget adherence, and annual overhauls of electrical systems. You will coordinate with procurement for material, ensure zero accidents, and drive safety culture across the department.

The role requires hands-on leadership in budgeting, spare management, and root-cause analysis of electrical faults to minimize downtime and maximize plant availability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability of critical spare material to minimize breakdown time and maximize availability of plant.
• Prepare VED analysis of spare.
• Technical clearance about the equipment.
• Prepare maintenance budget.
• Optimization of budget with continuous monitoring and analysis of maintenance practice.
• Preparation of budget and adherence to approved budget.
• Planning and execution of annual overhauling of electrical system within time frame on cost reduction and time management.
• To avoid the dumping of inventory.
• 7.100% Service bill process.
• Development of local vendor.
• Co-ordination with procurement department for material purchase.
• Ensure zero fatality due to electrical failures.
• Implementation of Safety culture among departmental employees
• Identify safety observation and implementation of Hazard & near miss reporting culture.
• 4.100% compliance of safety observations.
• Ensure compliance of permit-to-work (PTW) system/ LOTO system to ensure zero accident.
• Provide safety training for subordinate/contractor employee by safety department.
• 7.100% availability of electrical system of Coal Handling Plant.
• Planning for PM activities, Condition Monitoring of Equipment 100% PM of electrical equipment
• 95 % Service Request attended.
• 10.100% condition monitoring of equipment.
• No tripping of Coal Handling Plant due to electrical fault.
• To carry out breakdown maintenance as per Maintenance Instruction of OEM and restore the equipment/system in the minimum possible time.
• Preparation and review of SMPs and maintenance policies
• Maintain minimum lux level of illumination system in Coal Handling Plant & Railway Yard
• Maintain AC system Coal Handling Plant & Railway Yard
• Monitoring AMC /ARC contracts.
• Attend daily planning Meeting
• Motivate team members for energy conservation, good maintenance practices and safety practices etc.
• Root cause Analysis of failure of equipment/tripping.
• Prepare Modification /system Improvement plan of quality/safety/environmental / energy saving plan
• Co-ordination & Interaction with other departments
• Provide an encouraging workplace climate.
• Attend >95% SR raised by Operation department.
• Provide Facilitation to Mechanical/civil/C&I department for electrical supply/lighting/EOT/Hoist/Lift/AC/thermography
• Attend trouble shooting for smooth operation of plant.
• Attend safety training conducted by safety department
• Attend safety training and knowledge sharing (Training program) to develop self/team members.

• To carry out breakdown maintenance as per Maintenance Instruction of OEM and restore the equipment/system in the minimum possible time.
• Preparation and review of standard maintenance Procedures (SMPs) and philosophies/ maintenance policies/ spare policies
• Maintain minimum lux level of illumination system in Coal Handling Plant & Railway Yard

• Monitoring AMC /ARC contracts.
• Meeting with sub-ordinates. Regular discussion with team members (giving & taking feedback) for the day-to-day problems and find out the solutions for improving the condition of equipment
• Attend daily planning Meeting
• Motivate team members for energy conservation, good maintenance practices and safety practices etc.
• Root cause Analysis of failure of equipment/tripping. Why-why analysis to be done for the repetitive breakdowns
• Prepare Modification /system Improvement plan of quality/safety/environmental / energy saving plan
• Co-ordination & Interaction with other departments
• Provide an encouraging workplace climate.
• Ensure compliance of statutory requirements.
• Attend >95% SR raised by Operation department.

• Attend & conduct Knowledge sharing (Training program) to develop self/team members. Target- 4 Days/Year

• Provide safe work practice training for isolation of feeder to operation department to ensure zero accident during isolation of feeder. 4 days/ year for each shift
• Facilitating adequate training (both on and off the job) and encouraging the fulfillment of goals.
