Job summary

Kimberly-Clark in India seeks an Associate Trainee to gain hands-on experience in production and maintenance across packaging and distribution of leading brands.

You will work under safety rules, participate in 5S, and develop skills in machine operations, preventive maintenance and quality checks as part of our manufacturing team.

About You

Education & Safety Expectations
  • ITI in Mechanical / EE / EEE / E&C
  • Follow all KC safety rules and guidelines, ensure own and others’ safety, conduct periodic safety observations, report near misses, unsafe acts and abnormal conditions promptly, and comply with risk assessments, SOPs, LOTO, work permits, emergency response plans, safety targets, PCS, and all safety compliances.
Quality, GMP & Customer Focus

Adhere to personal hygiene, workplace hygiene, GMP, KC quality guidelines, and QMS standards. Maintain a quality‑focused mindset, ensure actions align with customer and consumer expectations, and contribute individually to delivering high‑quality products to the market.

Production & Machine Operations
  • Handle raw material and packing material preparation, loading, splicing, unloading, material threading and routing as per defined procedures, recheck products after splicing, troubleshoot machine breakdowns, quality defects, and short stops, conduct RCA, maintain machine and work‑area cleaning, and uphold shop‑floor 5S.
Documentation, Traceability & Quality Checks
  • Maintain material traceability reports, production and packing logbooks.
  • Perform real‑time variable and attribute quality checks for products and packaging and record all inspection results accurately in quality systems/software and relevant quality documents.
Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Production, Machine Operation & Performance: Ensure only confirmed good products are shipped by following non‑confirming product quality guidelines, segregation, recheck, and proper hold handling. Set and run machines at centerline and GRS, maintain critical settings, achieve Volume, OEE, Waste, Performance, Quality, and Safety KPIs, perform pack count/product size/tier changes using QCO lean principles, and ensure accurate data entry for downtime, waste, production, and machine performance in MIS systems.
  • Maintenance, Reliability & Lean Practices: Perform Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, and Tightening (CLIT); visual health checks including temperature, vibration, greasing, oiling, and abnormality closure. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, systematic spare replacement, hot‑melt cleaning, and focus on lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement to deliver benchmark Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and compliance KPIs.
  • Quality Assurance & GMP Compliance: Follow personal and plant hygiene, pest control, GMP standards, conduct all quality testing for product verification, address customer complaints, quality defects, and RMPM. Perform real‑time inspections, grade change inspections, variable and attribute testing, packing and artwork checks, document results in quality systems, conduct audits (CCPs, QMS, 5S), manage product clearance, hold protocols, and equipment calibration.
  • Mechanical Engineering & Spares Management: Manage store inventory systems for spare tracking, issue spares per authorization, maintain reorder levels based on criticality, lead time, and frequency. Perform overhauling of units/modules, stock counts, 5S activities, store audits, hot‑melt part refurbishment, inkjet coding machine maintenance, and support PM and changeover activities.
  • Utility, Electrical & Infrastructure Operations: Operate and maintain utilities and electrical systems including Transformers, HT/LT, DG sets, compressors, chillers, AHU, WTP, STP, cooling towers, firefighting systems, pump rooms, UPS, VFDs, motors, and ensure uninterrupted mill operations. Maintain reports, preventive schedules, panels, new project installations, BMS, and EMS.
  • Safety, Compliance & Operational Excellence: Ensure equipment reliability, operational safety, energy efficiency, and compliance through disciplined execution of procedures, preventive schedules, audits, continuous monitoring, and cross‑functional support to maintain high equipment availability and plant performance.
