Job Description

The Associate Professor - General Medicine is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, providing specialized medical care, supervising residents, managing complex cases, conducting research, and contributing to academic and clinical development.

• Teach General Medicine to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.


• Conduct lectures, tutorials, bedside teaching, seminars, and case discussions.


• Supervise residents, interns, and junior faculty members.


• Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.


• Provide outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and critical-care services as required.


• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.


• Participate in ward rounds and review patient progress regularly.


• Interpret laboratory, imaging, ECG, and other diagnostic reports.


• Manage complex and critically ill medical patients within approved clinical privileges.


• Coordinate patient care with specialists, nursing teams, and allied healthcare professionals.


• Guide postgraduate dissertations, research projects, and academic activities.


• Conduct examinations and evaluate student and resident performance.


• Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and quality-improvement initiatives.


• Maintain accurate clinical, academic, and patient documentation.


• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare.
