Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in documentary or non-fiction filmmaking as Researcher or Assistant Director.
• Strong visual storytelling and narrative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to navigate ground realities.
• Fluency in English; conversational Hindi and Punjabi.
• Willingness to travel and work on location in Punjab.
• Prior on-set filmmaking, scheduling, field research, and production management experience is a must.

Responsibilities

About the Role

RoundglassCreative Studio is looking for a detail-oriented Associate with a stronginterest in non-fiction storytelling, a grounding in documentary research andproduction processes, and the ability to work confidently in fast-paced,real-world environments. The idealcandidate will work closely with the Creative Lead and support the developmentand production of films across the Studio. The role involves coordinating withinternal teams, programme teams, community members, contributors, and externalproduction crews through every stage of the filmmaking process — from storydiscovery, research and validation to pre-production, field shoots,post-production, and final delivery. We are looking for someone who understands that astrong documentary film begins long before the camera starts rolling. Itrequires curiosity, thorough research, careful validation, an understanding ofcontext, and detailed preparation. It means finding the layers within a story -understanding not only what happened, but why it matters, whose perspectiveneeds to be represented, and what will make the story meaningful to anaudience. The role requires someone who is comfortable goingacross Punjab, comfortable meeting people and communities, listening closely,and asking the right questions. The candidate should be able to observe andidentify the impact of different programmes and help translate that intostrong, research-backed pre-production material. The Associate will help ensure that research,contributors, production requirements, references, footage, feedback, andpost-production workflows are organized and followed through carefully.

What you ’ ll do:

End-to-End Project Coordination | Development toPost-Production

• Conductin-depth online and field research to support story discovery,development, and validation.
  
• Supportthe Creative Lead in identifying strong case studies and contributors andensuring that research and narrative choices remain aligned with thefilm’s creative objective.
  
• Developand organise research notes, contributor profiles, beat sheets, stepoutlines, visual references, and shot breakdowns in line with the creativedirection.
  
• Coordinatewith writers on scripts, revisions, feedback, and timely submissions.
  
• Supportpre-production planning and crew coordination, ensuring clarity andalignment on schedules, requirements, deliverables, and expectationsacross departments.
  
• Coordinateclosely with internal programme teams, contributors, communities, andexternal production partners to ensure information and productionrequirements are communicated accurately and on time.
  
• Acrossall productions, ensure adherence to Roundglass standards, designguidelines, science and factual accuracy, safety protocols, compliances,and ethical storytelling practices.
  
• Actas a key bridge between the creative team, production crew, programmeteams, and contributors during shoots.
  
• Helpensure contributors, locations, scenes, and production requirements areready and coordinated according to the shooting plan.
  
• Trackshot sequences and coverage requirements, helping the team stay alignedwith the creative brief while responding to the realities of the field.
  
• Maintaindetailed shoot logs, contributor notes, coverage records, and productiondocumentation to ensure continuity from production into post-production.
  
• Manageon-ground flow and troubleshoot coordination challenges as they arise,supporting the crew in making informed decisions within real-timeconstraints.
  
• Workclosely with the post-production team to ensure that creative briefs,footage, research, contributor context, and production notes are clearlyorganised and handed over.
  
• Provideeditorial support through shoot logs, story notes, contributor andcharacter context, transcripts, research material, and visual references.
  
• Coordinateacross different stages of post-production, including editing, graphics,sound, colour, reviews, feedback, and final delivery, as required.
  
• Trackpost-production schedules, review rounds, feedback, approval gateways, anddeliverables to ensure projects move efficiently through each stage.
  
• Facilitatecross-functional collaboration between creative, programme, and externalteams, ensuring feedback is consolidated, communicated clearly, andfollowed through.
  
• Maintainorganised project documentation and ensure that final masters, projectfiles, assets, and supporting material are properly managed, handed overand archived.
