Job summary

ZS Associates in India is seeking an Associate – Platform Data Engineer for the ZAIDYN platform. You will design robust pipelines, implement ETL workflows, and deliver analytics-ready data products powering analytics and intelligent automation.

You’ll work across global teams, own delivery through design to deployment, mentor juniors, and travel as required. A CS/MIS/IT degree with 1–2 years of development experience and strong SQL, Python, and data warehousing skills are expected; AWS/Azure and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant development experience on medium to large-scale technology solutions, preferably in Pharma/Life Sciences.
• Strong SQL skills for data transformation and validation.
• Hands-on Python scripting for data processing and automation.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and ETL tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Informatica, Talend, SSIS.

Responsibilities

Associate - Platform Services:

The Associate – ZAIDYN Platform Data Engineer configures and develops on the ZAIDYN platform to build scalable analytics-ready and Agentic AI–ready data products. You will design robust pipelines, apply business rules, define KPIs, and deliver trusted data that powers analytics and intelligent automation. Ideal candidates have hands‑on development project experience and strong foundations in ETL, data warehousing, and data engineering best practices.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop complex solutions for clients using programming languages, ETL service platforms, cloud technologies, and other relevant tools.
• Own delivery across project phases (design, build, test, deploy).
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, data models, and implementation plans.
• Build and configure ZAIDYN pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Implement ETL workflows for extraction, validation, transformation, and loading using platform and cloud-native capabilities.
• Apply business rules to ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with business definitions.
• Define and compute KPIs to support dashboards, reporting, and advanced analytics.
• Deliver analytics-ready data products for BI, reporting, and analytical models.
• Deliver Agentic AI–ready data products with well‑structured features, metadata, and documentation.
• Partner with leads and global teams (engineering, BI, analytics) to ensure smooth end‑to‑end delivery.
• Follow best practices (agile delivery, version control, code reviews, testing, documentation).
• Support project/program leads with planning, staffing, risk management, and status reporting.
• Collaborate with global teams (data engineers, platform engineers, BI developers, and analysts) to ensure seamless delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and help coordinate work across roles (engineering, cloud, BI, operations).
• Plan and track tasks to ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery.
• Contribute to key deliverables (requirements, solution design, prototypes, test cases, deployment and operations plans).
• Manage internal and client communication for assigned workstreams.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and learning across technology, domain, and delivery practices.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a specialization in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or other related disciplines.
• 1–2 years of relevant development experience working on medium to large‑scale technology solution delivery engagements, preferably within Pharma or Life Sciences organizations.
• Strong experience in ETL development, including building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL for data transformation, validation, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with Python scripting for data processing, automation, and transformation logic.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (conceptual, logical, and physical models).
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing and delivering data products for analytics and reporting.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and big‑data/ETL tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark/PySpark, Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to understand business context.
