Job summary

DP World is seeking an Operations GSC Associate to support back-office and transactional tasks across the Trailers & Intermodal business in the Multi Modal Solutions unit. The role focuses on data entry, documentation processing, and billing support with close coordination to Control Tower, Billing and Finance teams.

Based in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, the position requires attention to detail, strong process discipline and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotational night shifts

Qualifications

• Experience in trucking/intermodal/backoffice operations.
• 2-4 years in transportation backoffice, order management or billing.
• Familiarity with load/order entry and billing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain trailer/intermodal load records in the TMS.
• Process and audit shipping docs (BOL, POD, rate confirmations).
• Update system records with milestones and status codes.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and responsible for repositioning.
• Process detention/demurrage charges and validate tariffs.
• Support invoice generation, validation and billing exception handling.
• Assist carrier settlement and freight audit & pay activities.

Role Purpose

The Operations GSC Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of backoffice and transactional operational activities supporting the Trailers & Intermodal business within Multi Modal Solutions, across the order-to-billing lifecycle. He/she will manage load/order data entry and validation, documentation processing, equipment and chassis record maintenance, detention and demurrage accessorial processing, invoicing and billing support, exception queue management and operational reporting in accordance with established SOPs, service levels and business requirements. This is a non-customer-facing, systems and data-driven role that requires close coordination with the onshore Control Tower, Billing, Finance and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of operational transactions, while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and data integrity.

Reporting To: Assistant Manager / Manager – Operations (Multi Modal Solutions)

Key Role Responsibilities

• Create, validate and maintain trailer and intermodal load/order records in the TMS based on tenders, rate confirmations and instructions received from onshore teams.


• Process and audit operational documentation (BOL, POD, rate confirmations, interchange receipts) for accuracy and completeness, within agreed timelines.


• Update and reconcile load milestones, status codes and system records based on data received from the Control Tower and tracking systems.


• Maintain and reconcile equipment (trailer/chassis/container) inventory and utilization records within operational systems.


• Process empty equipment repositioning transactions and update system records accordingly.


• Calculate and process detention, demurrage and per-diem accessorial charges based on established rules and SOPs.


• Validate rate confirmations, tariffs and accessorial charges to support accurate billing and carrier settlement.


• Support order-to-cash / booking-to-invoice activities, including invoice generation, validation and billing exception resolution.


• Support carrier settlement and freight audit & pay activities by matching invoices, PODs and rate agreements.


• Monitor and manage system/data exception queues (EDI failures, missing documents, data mismatches) and resolve or route as per SOP.


• Identify and escalating data discrepancies, processing delays and operational risks to the relevant internal teams.


• Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, data quality standards and governance requirements.


• Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.


• Support preparation of operational reports, dashboards and performance trackers.


• Ensure compliance with regional KPIs, SLAs and operational targets.


• Collaborate with the onshore Control Tower, Billing and Finance teams to resolve data and process gaps, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

• Prior experience in Trucking, Intermodal/Drayage, Trailer Operations backoffice, or Transportation/Logistics transactional support


• 2-4 years direct experience in transportation/logistics backoffice operations, order management, billing or transactional support functions.


• Experience in intermodal rail operations and/or chassis/container administration will be an added advantage.


• Knowledge of load/order entry, documentation processing and billing/invoicing workflows.


• Understanding of equipment (trailer/chassis/container) record management, detention/demurrage and empty repositioning processes.


• Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage high transaction volumes and meet deadlines in a fast-paced backoffice environment.


• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy and process discipline.


• Effective written communication skills for internal coordination and reporting; no direct customer or carrier-facing communication required.


• Familiarity with TMS, billing/ERP systems, EDI transactions and reporting tools.


• Well versed with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


• Flexible to work in rotational shifts as per business requirements, including night shifts, to align with US/global business hours.
