Job summary

Apex Group is seeking an Associate Level 2 in Hyderabad to join our private equity accounting team. You will act as SME for fund structures, investor economics, waterfalls and carried interest calculations, while guiding complex accounting treatments with senior staff.

Responsibilities include reviewing journal entries, validating capital activity, and ensuring audit readiness. You will contribute to quarterly/annual US GAAP/IFRS reporting and regulatory work, with opportunity to improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in accounting/finance.
• CPA/ACA preferred.
• 3+ years in private equity fund accounting or alternatives.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, ASC 946/820, waterfall mechanics.
• Proficiency in PE accounting platforms and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Act as an SME for fund structures, investor economics, waterfalls, and carried interest calculations.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting treatments (equalizations, FX remeasurement, side letter economics).
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by analysts.
• Validate capital activity (calls, distributions, true-ups) and ensure compliance with fund terms.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements under US GAAP/IFRS.
• Support regulatory reporting (Form PF, Annex IV) and investor tax pack preparation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and collaborate on system enhancements (Investran, eFront, Allvue).
• Coach junior accountants on technical accounting concepts and system usage.
