Job summary

Global Payments Inc. in Pune is seeking a Security Analyst to join our Global Security Operations team and help safeguard the Global Payments network.

You will monitor complex systems, investigate security events, and help implement containment and remediation under guidance, while learning SOC processes and staying current with fintech threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field.
• Strong interest in SOC, incident response, malware analysis, and SIEM.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors and cyber kill chain.

Responsibilities

• Monitor complex systems and respond to threats via intrusion detection software.
• Investigate security events by reviewing logs and data feeds.
• Assist in containment, protection, and remediation activities.
• Configure security systems (proxy, remote access, mail gateway, WAF, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Follow documented playbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with fintech cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Identify false positives and escalate genuine incidents.

Whatyou’llown

• Gains andmaintainsknowledge of how tomonitorcomplex systems and response to known and emerging threats against the Global Payments network via intrusion detection software

• Assists in detailed, comprehensive investigation of security issues by reviewing security log data, interpreting data in support of security event management process from various data feeds and triages on a wide variety of security events.

• Under close supervision performs incident handling process by gaining knowledge in implementation of containment, protection and remediation activities.

• Under close supervision designs and configures security systems, including proxy, remote access, mail gateway, intrusion prevention, wireless networking, data leak prevention, security information and event management and web application firewalls.

• Follow documentedinvestigationplaybooks,Runbooksand standard operating procedures.

• Learn and follow security protocols to safeguard sensitive financial information.

• Stayup-to-datewith the latest cyber threats, trends, and vulnerabilities relevant to the fintech industry.

• Identifyfalse positives and elevate genuine security incidents to senior analysts.

Whatyou’llbring

• Relevant Experience or Degree in:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Info Security, or related field. Or relevant work experience in a related field.

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications are an added advantage.

• Strong interest in cybersecurity, with a focus on Security Operations Centers (SOC) and incident response, malwareanalysis,SIEMetc.

• Core Cybersecurity Concepts:Understanding of common attack vectors (e.g., malware, phishing, brute force) and the cyber kill chain.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.

• Good knowledge of security best practices and protocols (e.g., encryption, authentication, etc.

It’sa bonus if you have

• SIEM Exposure:Academic or basic professional experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel,QradarEtc).

• Certifications:Entry-level certs like CompTIA Security+,,CEH, ISC2CC,CiscoCyberOpsAssociate, or GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)etc.

• Home Labs:Hands-on experience building home labs,participatingin CTFs (Catch the Flag),bugBounty,HackTheBox/TryHackMechallenges.
