Job summary

Nation with NaMo in Kolkata is seeking team members for the Governance and Policy team. You will support research, analysis, and the development of state and national manifestos and policy recommendations.

This role requires keen analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for public sector impact. You will collaborate with team members to implement governance reforms, evaluate policy initiatives, and contribute actionable recommendations that advance the team’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Minimum degree from a Tier 1 or 2 academic institution in Social Sciences, Law, Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience or interest in policy research, governance projects, or political consulting is desirable.
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to travel if needed.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Deep understanding of India’s political and policy landscape, especially West Bengal.
  • Alumni of prestigious fellowships, particularly the LAMP Fellowship, encouraged.
  • Native or professional proficiency in Bengali is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct background research, gather data, and support preparation of actionable reports for governance and policy reform initiatives.
  • Policy Development Assistance: Contribute to drafting policy documents, manifestos and recommendations under supervision.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare presentations, briefs, and analysis summaries for internal and external audiences.
  • Continuous Learning: Keep abreast of political, regulatory, and programmatic developments; adopt best practices.
  • Flexibility: Adapt quickly to emerging priorities and support senior management in high-pressure contexts.
  • Policy Development & Manifesto Shaping: Lead the research and drafting of state-level manifestos and governance policy recommendations.
  • Strategic Alignment & Reform Execution: Align governance reforms with broader goals and ensure effective implementation.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Manage governance projects and cross-functional teams; monitor progress and risks.

Job description

We are India's leading political consulting organisation, dedicated to providing high-quality professional support for political campaigns. About the Role

We are looking for team members to join our Governance and Policy team. In this role, you will support research, analysis, and the development of state and national manifestos and policy recommendations. This role requires keen analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for public sector impact. You will collaborate with team members to implement governance reforms, evaluate policy initiatives, and contribute to actionable recommendations that advance the team’s mission.



  • Minimum degree from a Tier 1 or 2 academic institution in Social Sciences, Law, Engineering or related fields

  • Prior experience or demonstrated interest in policy research, governance projects, or political consulting is desirable.

  • Proactive attitude, willingness to travel if needed

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.

  • A deep understanding of India’s political and policy landscape, culture, and geography of West Bengal.

  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment

  • Strong and consistent academic record, including good performance in Class 10 and 12 examinations.

  • Alumni of prestigious fellowships, particularly the LAMP (Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament) Fellowship, are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Native or professional proficiency in Bengali (both written and spoken) will be a significant advantage, considering the nature of stakeholder interactions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations tailored to diverse stakeholders

  • In-depth knowledge of India’s political landscape, policy environment, state-specific realities, and electoral processes

  • Willingness to travel extensively to support ground-level implementation and stakeholder engagement in varied geographic and cultural contexts
