Job summary

WSP India is seeking a seasoned geotechnical engineer to lead and deliver technically robust reports, liaise with specialists and clients across sectors, and ensure best‑value services.

You will manage project delivery, mentor staff, and develop GIs, GI reports, and foundation/retaining wall designs in line with Eurocode 7. Strong client liaison and reporting skills are essential; background verification applies.

Qualifications

• Expertise in geotechnical engineering principles.
• Design skills for retaining walls, foundations and slope stabilisation.
• Consultancy experience with strong client & contractor relationships.
• Chartered or near-chartered professional qualification.
• Experience delivering geotechnical projects and preparing high‑level reports.
• Understanding of client requirements and ability to influence contract specifications.
• Experience leading or being part of delivery teams on short-to-medium projects.
• Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.
• Experience with geotechnical desk studies, GIs and GDRs per Eurocode 7 Part 1.
• Knowledge of Eurocode 7, UK annex codes, contracts, and DMRB CD622/CD641.
• Familiarity with a wide range of geotechnical software for design.
• Ability to review others’ work critically.

• Provide support in all aspects of project delivery, including client liaison, contractors and sub‑consultants, public and statutory body consultation, quality control, and specialist management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a demonstrable understanding of underlying principles.
• Design skills for commonly adopted retaining wall, foundation, and slope stabilisation solutions.
• Consultancy experience with good commercial awareness and strong client & contractor relationships.
• Chartered or near‑chartered professional qualification.
• Experience delivering geotechnical projects and preparing reports to a high technical level.
• Understanding of client requirements and ability to influence contract specifications.
• Experience leading or being part of effective delivery teams that manage short‑to‑medium term projects from inception to construction.
• Excellent report‑writing and client liaison skills.
• Proven experience undertaking and managing geotechnical desk studies; designing, procuring & supervising Ground Investigations (GIs); checking GIs and Geotechnical Design Reports in accordance with Eurocode 7 Part 1.
• Working knowledge of Eurocode 7, UK annex design codes, ground investigation & construction contracts, and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges CD622 and CS641.
• Familiarity with and ability to interrogate a wide range of geotechnical software for design of civil engineering projects, including deep & shallow foundations, pile group analysis, embedded & gravity retaining walls, earthworks/slope stability, and reinforced earthworks.
• Skills to check and critically evaluate others’ work (drawings, calculations, reports) with a proven track record.
