Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in Financial Crime Risk within Institutional Banking.
  • Experience in Financial Crime Risk, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or Non-Financial Risk functions.
  • Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, Sanctions, Fraud and related regulatory obligations.
  • Strong knowledge of ABAC frameworks, controls, and risk management practices.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments, risk oversight activities, governance programs, or compliance initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of local and international Financial Crime regulations and regulatory expectations.
  • Exposure to ABAC regulations, third-party due diligence, and related compliance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the provision and documentation of Financial Crime and Fraud risk opinions relating to high-risk customers, products, and business activities.

  • Monitor Financial Crime and Fraud risk profiles across the Institutional business, identifying emerging risks, trends, and anomalies for further review.
  • Analyse issues, incidents, and risk data to identify systemic themes and support remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the ongoing management of Non-Financial Risk through data analysis, reporting, and risk oversight activities.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across business, compliance, risk, and control functions.
  • Contribute to the success of a high-performing and engaged Centre of Excellence team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Associate – Risk Opinions & Oversight, the Associate – Financial Crime Risk Oversight & Opinion role forms part of the Financial Crime & Compliance Centre of Excellence (FC&C CoE) within the broader Institutional Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Centre of Excellence.


This role supports the delivery of Financial Crime and Fraud (FC&F) risk oversight across the Institutional business. You will contribute to the coordination and documentation of risk opinions across customers, products, and channels, helping ensure Financial Crime risks remain within ANZ's risk appetite. Working closely with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and risk teams, you will support risk assessments, governance reporting, data analysis, and risk insights to enable effective risk management and decision-making.

What will your day look like?

As an Associate – Financial Crime Risk Oversight & Opinion, you will:

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:



  • Overall 7+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Risk within Institutional Banking.

  • Experience in Financial Crime Risk, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or Non-Financial Risk functions.

  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime risk, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), Sanctions, Fraud, and related

  • regulatory obligations.

  • Strong knowledge of Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) frameworks, controls, and risk management practices.

  • Experience supporting risk assessments, risk oversight activities, governance programs, or compliance initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Non-Financial Risk frameworks and risk management principles.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex risk data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights.

  • Experience preparing governance materials, management reporting, and risk insights for senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple business functions.

  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills with a proactive, outcome-focused mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to a positive team culture.

  • Exposure to Financial Crime Risk Opinions, Customer Risk Assessments, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), or High-Risk Customer Reviews.

  • Understanding of local and international Financial Crime regulations and regulatory expectations.

  • Knowledge of ABAC regulations, including exposure to anti-bribery and corruption risk assessments, third-party due diligence, and related compliance programs.
