Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Hyderabad invites a Mechanical Design Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to contribute to aerospace projects. You will create 3D models, drawings, and documentation using UG NX, applying DFM/ DFA and tolerance analyses while selecting suitable materials.

This hybrid position collaborates across design, manufacturing, quality and site teams. You will assess lifecycle performance of materials, participate in design maturation, and support product release processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (full-time).
• 1–3 years in mechanical design or related engineering roles.
• At least 1 year hands-on with UG NX (Mechanical/Electrical).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

What You Will Do

• Support all day-to-day mechanical design activities for assigned engineering programs in alignment with organizational standards and project schedules.
• Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation using UG NX.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), tolerance analysis, and material selection best practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Site Program Engineers to resolve design issues.
• Support concept development, design maturation, and release activities across the product lifecycle.
• Evaluate materials with respect to lifecycle performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Apply analytical thinking and structured problem-solving to drive technically sound design decisions.
• Exposure to UG NX Electrical Routing and block diagrams is considered an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience with composites and aluminium alloys.
• Background in Aerospace or Automotive interior design.
