Overview
Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) – Modelling and Simulation has an Associate Engineer opening. The primary responsibility is to analyse Eaton's Mobility products for static and vibration FEA analysis domains such as stress, deformation, fatigue, and modal/harmonic vibration. The individual will partner with global and local teams, understand the design intent, and develop and validate static and vibration structural FEA analysis models to substantiate engineering designs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technology and product teams to define problem statements.
- Understand product and evaluate requirements (CTQs) of system, sub-systems and components in cooperation with internal and external customers.
- Deploy digital prototype methodologies in static and vibration structural FEA analysis (stress, deformation, fatigue, modal, harmonics & random vibration FEA).
- Coordinate with stakeholders to develop static and vibration structural FEA analysis requirements for Eaton's Mobility products.
- Interpret, summarize and communicate static and vibration structural FEA results (stress, deformation, fatigue, modal, harmonics & random vibration) to local and global audiences and provide technical and/or design recommendations.
- Support validation for maturing analysis capability of static and vibration structural FEA.
- Support test plans wherever necessary to verify simulation models and validate analysis approaches in correlation with test outcomes.
- Understand product function and architecture in-depth and collaborate closely with product and test teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor in Mechanical, Automotive, Production Engineering. Less than 2 years of relevant experience with multinational engineering organization; fresh graduates (BE/B.Tech) from reputed colleges can also apply.
Skills
- Fundamental engineering understanding of Strength of Materials and Vibrations and their application in mechanical design.
- Knowledge of various automotive product lines and architectures; understanding of subsystems or components.
- Fundamental understanding of finite element methods (FEM) and tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.
- Experience in projects involving FEA/CAE analysis.
- Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Team player with effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Good learning agility with energy and zeal to deliver beyond expected results.
