Job summary

Thomson Reuters India Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru seeks an Associate Editorial Operations Administrator to support editorial leadership and newsroom teams with daily administrative functions, procurement, travel, and contractor management. This role interfaces with multiple teams to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • 1-2 years of experience in administration, operations, office management, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to the region.
  • The ability and willingness to support diverse teams across multiple geographies, cultures, and working styles.

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative and operational support to editorial leadership and newsroom teams in Bangalore, including bureau administration, procurement, transportation coordination, and contractor management.
  • Ensuring the smooth and timely execution of all newsroom-related administrative activities, working closely with the Bureau Chief and General Manager.
  • Coordinating visitor travel arrangements, including visa applications, cost estimates, hotel reservations, and ground transportation for colleagues visiting India from other locations.
  • Supporting business travel and expense management by assisting with travel estimates, obtaining approvals, coordinating flight and hotel bookings, and ensuring timely expense submission with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems to facilitate efficient document retrieval and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies.

Associate Editorial Operations Administrator, Bangalore Associate Editorial Operations Administrator The Associate Editorial Operations Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all local administrative activities, working closely with the Bureau Chief and General Manager to provide comprehensive administrative support.

About the Role:
  • Providing administrative and operational support to editorial leadership and newsroom teams in Bangalore, including bureau administration, procurement, transportation coordination, and contractor management.
  • Ensuring the smooth and timely execution of all newsroom-related administrative activities, working closely with the Bureau Chief and General Manager.
  • Coordinating visitor travel arrangements, including visa applications, cost estimates, hotel reservations, and ground transportation for colleagues visiting India from other locations.
  • Supporting business travel and expense management by assisting with travel estimates, obtaining approvals, coordinating flight and hotel bookings, and ensuring timely expense submission with appropriate documentation.
  • Maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems to facilitate efficient document retrieval and ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies.
  • Acting as a liaison with Facilities, HR, IT, local authorities, and other key stakeholders, while managing bureau-wide communications such as holiday schedules and office service updates.
  • Providing onboarding and offboarding support in partnership with News Support and Technology teams.
  • Coordinating and supporting training initiatives, team meetings, and company events across the region.
  • Managing subscriptions, memberships, and communication services (such as mobile phones, television services, and news feeds), while providing budget-related updates to the Regional General Manager.
  • Taking ownership of safety equipment management and maintaining accurate records within centralized databases, including tracking business assets such as mobile phones, UPS devices, and SIM cards.
  • Supporting vendor onboarding and management, including service providers, contractors, and interns, while partnering with internal sourcing and procurement teams.
  • Coordinating with third-party partners, such as Ascent, on contractor payments, leave administration, and shift or holiday allowances.
  • Partnering with the Accounts Payable team to ensure vendor invoices are processed and paid within agreed timelines.
  • Working closely with drivers and transport providers to manage bureau vehicle usage, fuel claims, and the timely renewal of insurance and statutory compliance requirements.
About You:
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • 1-2 years of experience in administration, operations, office management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supporting a newsroom or media environment is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, along with proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to the region.
  • The ability and willingness to support diverse teams across multiple geographies, cultures, and working styles.
