Job summary

Standard Chartered in Mumbai seeks an Associate-level candidate to lead financial analyses and valuation work for M&A advisory. You will build detailed financial models, evaluate performance under various scenarios, and participate across all deal stages from pitch through closing.

You will coordinate with deal teams, clients and advisers to support high-quality transactions. You will contribute to research, market analysis and preparation of client presentations while ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's level education from a top-tier institution.
  • 1–2 years of banking experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial and valuation analyses using multiple methodologies.
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various scenarios and M&A impacts.
  • Participate in all deal stages from pitch to closing and coordinate with stakeholders.

Job description

  • Lead execution of M&A advisory transactions for our clients, with supervision and guidance from senior members and assistance from junior members of the team, and contribute to idea generation and engage in high quality pitches
  • Perform financial and valuation analyses using various methodologies
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyse the impacts on potential M&A transactions
  • Participate in all stages of transaction executions, from the pitch phase through to closing
  • Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the Bank, other advisers and the clients
  • Involved in day-to-day project management and execution support
  • Research and analysis of markets and industries
  • Research and financial analysis of companies based on company information, research reports, and other information sources
  • Prepare presentation materials for use in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance
  • Effective transaction and deal team management
  • Efficiently manage several projects at once and help ensure that the quality of services meet the highest industry standards
  • Effectively manage deal teams and encourage creating a culture of collaboration
  • Supervise, train and mentor junior team members
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:

  • Degree or post graduate qualified from a top-tier school

Professional Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the banking industry

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

  • Prior experience in M&A transactions would be considered a plus
