Job summary

Standard Chartered in Mumbai seeks a senior banker to lead macro sales for large international corporates. You will originate, structure and execute multi-asset deals across Rates, FX, Credit Derivatives, and structured finance for India, partnering with global markets teams to deliver bespoke solutions.

The role requires deep knowledge of credit markets, XVA concepts, and strong client relationships, with a focus on risk management, liquidity, and financing needs.

Qualifications

Job description

  • The role will have direct coverage responsibility for large International Corporates with a focus on macro sales encompassing Rates, FX and Credit.
  • Be responsible for driving origination, sales and execution for Macro Sales desk for Top Tier Corporate client
  • It is a multi-asset sales mandate across Rates & Currencies, Commodities, Credit Derivatives, Structured Finance and Structured Investments for India.
  • It would entail constant engagement with clients, as a trusted partner, on bespoke financial markets solutions to enable them to manage their financial markets related risks, financing and liquidity needs better. These may include discussions around Risk management, Tactical market moves, Regulatory aspects, Economic and Macro factors, hedging solutions etc.
  • Engagement with broader Corporate Sales team in South Asia and across the globe is critical for success to originate better and deliver best in class client solutions. This role also requires strong collaboration with Markets Structuring team, across the globe, as well as trading / XVA teams, to take the deals to execution.
  • This role shall entail engagement with Coverage team, M&A, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Legal, Compliance teams
  • Expert level understanding and extensive experience of Rates & Currencies derivatives. Superior understanding of corporate client’s needs and application around Credit Markets, structured financing and investments. Good understanding of concepts and application of XVA in a large global bank is a key requirement for the job.
Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role
  • Involvement with GAMS on accounts and engagement with FAMs where applicable to promote business.
  • Manage, maintain and improve origination across assigned existing.

Business

  • Be responsible for driving origination, sales and execution for Macro Sales desk for Top Tier Corporate client
  • It is a multi-asset sales mandate across Rates & Currencies, Credit Derivatives, Structured Finance and Investments for India.
  • It would entail constant engagement with clients, as a trusted partner, on bespoke financial markets solutions to enable them to manage their financial markets related risks, financing and liquidity needs better. These may include discussions around Risk management, Tactical market moves, Regulatory aspects, Economic and Macro factors, hedging solutions etc.
  • The role is likely to entail direct coverage responsibility of select Large Clients in India with the objective to achieving Client Income targets.
  • Engage with Corporate Sales team at large, is a prerequisite, in South Asia and across the globe, to leverage their existing relationships to originate and deliver structured and bespoke deals. This role also requires strong collaboration with Markets Structuring team, across the globe, as well as trading / XVA teams, to take the deals to execution.
  • This role shall entail engagement with Coverage team, M&A, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Legal, Compliance teams.
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
