EY GDS – Associate Director – BI Architect

Senior, client‑facing Enterprise BI Architect responsible for engaging C‑suite stakeholders, designing and delivering large‑scale Business Intelligence solutions, and supporting pre‑sales activities, deal support, and solution shaping.

Key Responsibilities

• Deep pre‑sales expertise across large‑scale BI solutions using modern cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with BI and visualization, cloud data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), ETL/ELT tools (Azure Data Factory, Informatica, SSIS, Talend), and programming (SQL, DAX, MDX, Python/PySpark/R).
• Data architecture mastery: dimensional modelling, semantic layer design, KPI definitions, reusable datasets, enterprise reporting patterns, data governance, metadata management, data observability, and security models.
• Design and implementation of data integration concepts, data warehousing/lakehouse patterns, performance tuning and optimization.
• Leadership and consulting: bridge business and technology, advise executives on BI modernization and value creation, communicate and storytell, manage stakeholders, and lead large‑scale BI solution deployments.
• AI & Advanced Analytics exposure: integrate Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI and other AI/ML platforms with enterprise BI, design AI‑enabled BI use cases such as intelligent insights, natural language querying, and automated analytics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16+ years of industry experience, including 7+ years in BI architecture and analytics.
• Proven enterprise‑grade solution implementations and leadership of global stakeholder engagements.
• Deep pre‑sales experience: leading and supporting deals, responding to RFPs/RFIs, creating technical documentation, and leading solution design workshops.
• Strong data strategy, cloud‑native architectures, and analytics modernization expertise.
• Familiarity with data mesh principles, domain‑oriented data product design, data fabric, multi‑cloud data strategies, and real‑time analytics.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, storytelling, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable BI and analytics solutions.
