Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking an Associate Director of Software Engineering in Hyderabad to lead and shape the engineering roadmap for SaaS enterprise catalog solutions. You will guide end-to-end delivery, from requirements to cloud-native deployment, influencing multiple business units.

You should bring 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience, strong communication, and a track record in data-centric environments, as you drive secure, compliant, and scalable

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Software engineering with at least 4 years in direct leadership of software and quality engineering teams.
• Proven delivery track record for SaaS-based platform integration, preferably in data/metadata-centric domains.
• Ability to scale software, quality, and cloud engineering programs in complex, data-driven environments.
• Excellent ability to translate architectural designs to non-technical stakeholders including compliance and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering roadmap for SaaS-based enterprise catalog solutions in collaboration with Product.
• Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirements through cloud-native deployment automation.
• Architect shared capabilities enabling federated consumption across divisions and business units.
• Ensure systems are secure, compliant, auditable, and observable per Enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• In partnership with Product, defining and executing the engineering roadmap for SaaS-based enterprise catalog solutions, including integration with bespoke or proprietary internal systems.
• Shepherding the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design through to cloud-native deployment automation.
• Architecting shared capabilities, in a shift-left environment enabling federated consumption across divisions and business units of S&P Global.
• Ensuring systems are secure, compliant, auditable, and observable in-alignment with Enterprise standards.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Software engineering, with minimum 4 years in roles focused on direct leadership of Software and Quality Engineering teams.
• Proven track record of delivery aligned with SaaS-based platform integration, ideally in a Data/ Metadata-centric field.
• Proven ability to lead and scale software, quality, and cloud engineering programs in complex, data-driven environments.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate architectural designs and software components to non-technical audiences, including compliance, product, and business teams.
• Agile mindset, with the ability to effectively manage through change and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and comfort developing modern Java software (JDK17+ minimum).
• Experience and comfort developing modern Python software (3.13+ minimum).
• Experience and comfort implementing and understanding CICD/ IAC processes (GitHub Actions, Terraform).
• Deep knowledge and experience with both container management platforms-based and cloud-native serverless technologies in at least one of AWS or GCP.
• Demonstrated experience developing microservice architectures and event-driven systems handling both high-volume and high-velocity data.
• Prior experience with Resource Description Framework (RDF) data, SPARQL, and RDF-based triple-stores is a significant plus.
