Alvarez & Marsal in Mumbai seeks an Associate / Senior Associate for Disputes and Investigations with a focus on Business Intelligence. The role involves executing tasks independently, managing time, and producing well-documented analytical outputs for client engagements.

• Compile and analyze facts to formulate, substantiate and/or critique various hypothesis / theories, claims and/or conclusions to support the evidence
• Perform accounting or other research required for clients across a diverse range of industries
• Perform analysis of accounting, finance, economic issues in the context of business transactions
• Prepare clear, accurate and sufficiently detailed written work such as memos to file, emails and work product
• Articulate ideas in confident and concise manner
• Concise and effective written communication with high level of clarity and quality
• Prepare high-quality slides and decks
• Actively engage in meetings and add value to discussions by participating effectively
• Provide high quality and complete work product, treating all work product as if it were client deliverables with good organization and presentation
• Achieve zero-defect deliverables through quality controls on own work

Team Profile

The A&M Business Intelligence team leverages an extensive network of confidential sources and databases to discreetly collect actionable intelligence across critical aspects of the business lifecycle. The key client service lines include:

• Strategic intelligence – Uncovering and monitoring critical risks – discreet intelligence and monitoring to advise on critical strategic, reputational, and operational risks. This includes helping respond to adverse stakeholder or competitor activity, identifying and remediating financial leakages, and mitigating reputational risks.


• Investigative due diligence – Pre-investment integrity and governance advisory – investigative research and discreet intelligence gathering to advise investment funds and M&A clients on governance, integrity and reputational risks associated with investment targets.


• Forensic Asset Trace – Identification and recovery of undisclosed assets – integrated combination of forensic review of public records and financial statements, and discreet intelligence gathering, to uncover and recover a property, financial and luxury assets in financial default and dispute situations.
