Job summary

Umanist NA is seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to join the Infrastructure team. You will work with DevOps and Software teams to scale cloud infrastructure, optimize pipelines, and maintain deployment processes.

The role requires Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, automation, and CI/CD expertise, with opportunities to grow in cloud-native engineering.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Support, or Systems Administration.
• 1+ year AWS experience.
• 1+ year Kubernetes experience.
• 1+ year Docker experience.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes objects (Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, PVs).
• Proficiency with kubectl and multi-stage Dockerfiles.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong Linux admin skills: shell, systemd, permissions, networking tools.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized microservices across Kubernetes environments (EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Create and maintain Dockerfiles; manage container images and registries.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Assist in developing and maintaining Terraform/CloudFormation IaC scripts.
• Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes and infra issues (CrashLoopBackOff, build failures, networking, cloud alerts).
• Automate tasks with Bash or Python; support GitOps deployments.

About The Role

We are looking for an Associate DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You will work closely with DevOps and Software Development teams to maintain, scale, and optimize cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, automation, and CI/CD who is looking to build a career in cloud-native engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized microservices across Kubernetes environments such as EKS, GKE, and AKS.
• Create and maintain Dockerfiles and manage container images and registries.
• Support, troubleshoot, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Terraform/CloudFormation infrastructure-as-code scripts.

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes objects: Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and Persistent Volumes.
• Proficiency with kubectl.
• Hands‑on experience creating multi‑stage Dockerfiles.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Good Linux administration skills, including shell commands, systemd, file permissions, and networking tools such as curl, netstat, and dig.
• Practical knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Candidates Must Hold At Least One Active Certification

• CKA – Certified Kubernetes Administrator
• CKAD – Certified Kubernetes Application Developer
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Exposure to Istio, Linkerd, or other Service Mesh technologies.
• Experience with Helm charts.
• Strong interest in cloud-native technologies, automation, and DevOps best practices.
