JPMorganChase in Bengaluru is seeking a Credit Risk professional to analyze consumer and dealer credit performance and translate findings into strategy recommendations. You will build decisioning strategies, test ideas, and support policy governance while collaborating with Risk, Underwriting, Finance, Product, Ops, and Tech across time zones.

Strong Python/SQL skills and 4–7 years of retail/auto credit experience are required.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzeconsumer and dealer/channel credit performanceto identify key drivers of approval rate, booked volume, loss rate (incl. early loss), and profitability; translate findings intostrategy recommendations.
  • Build, refine, and maintaincredit decisioning strategies(policy rules, cutoffs, segmentation) with a clear view ofrisk–growth–P&L trade-offs.
  • Design and supporttest‑and‑learn / challenger strategiesto measure incremental impact, document assumptions, and recommend scale/rollback decisions.
  • Supportcredit policy execution and governanceby maintaining underwriting guidelines, decisioning logic documentation, and risk control frameworks aligned to business priorities.
  • Partner cross‑functionally (Risk, Underwriting, Finance, Product, Ops, Tech) toimplement strategy changesin decisioning workflows/systems and track outcomes to targeted portfolio metrics.
  • Monitor portfolio and dealer/channel trends for emerging risks (mix shifts, dealer behavior, macro impacts) and recommendmitigation actionsconsistent with risk appetite.
  • Communicate insights and proposals toUS stakeholderswith clear, structured narratives and defensible analytical support.
  • Contribute to special projects related toportfolio optimization, decisioning process improvement, and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

4–7 yearsof experience inretail/auto credit decisioning, underwriting, or credit policy execution(bank/fintech/credit analytics organization).

  • Hands‑on Python and SQLskills (comfortable with data pulls, joins/aggregations, basic analytics, and synthesizing results into recommendations).
  • Strong understanding ofconsumer credit riskconcepts and how underwriting/decisioning changes impactportfolio outcomes(approval rate vs loss rate vs growth/profitability).
  • Stronglogical reasoning and structured problem solving; able to make clear assumptions and produce defensible decisions.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication; able to work directly withUS‑based stakeholdersand operate effectively across time zones.
  • Team‑oriented, able to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Experience withdecisioning engines / rules‑based platforms(any), rule governance, and operationalizing policy changes.
  • Experience runningchallenger rules/testing, experimentation frameworks, or structured “test‑and‑learn” programs.
  • Familiarity withportfolio monitoringapproaches (vintage/cohort analysis, roll rates, early delinquency indicators, segmentation performance).
  • Prior experience infintech/bankingenvironments or astatistics/quantbackground.
  • Proven stakeholder management across time zones; ability to writecrisp updatesand decision memos.
