Overview

AHEAD is currently seeking to hire an Associate Corporate Counsel – India to provide day-to-day legal support and counseling to AHEAD’s US as well as India Sales Team and other stakeholders including human resources, marketing, administration, etc. You will report to the Corporate Counsel – India.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts around IT and IT related agreements, including reseller agreements, partner agreements, master service agreements (internal use), master product and services agreement (end customer’s use), sub-contractor agreements, non-disclosure, and vendor agreements along with statements of work, all of which may pertain to the US, the UK, or India;
  • Creating flow-down terms based on agreed-to customer contracts post-execution for compliance purposes;
  • Providing day-to-day advisory to the India-based operations team and management on a wide range of employment law issues, which may include employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, and policy compliance;
  • Evaluating India-US balance for employment practices, policies, agreements and processes; implementing and/or updating as necessary and as applicable;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on Indian employment laws, privacy laws, information technology laws required to negotiate contracts;
  • Conducting legal research and staying updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the company’s business; and
  • Assessing and minimizing sources of risk, with appropriate escalations as necessary.
Required Qualifications and competencies
  • JD, LLM, or LLB, or equivalent degree from an accredited law school;
  • At least 4 to 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience practicing law, in-house preferred;
  • Ability to work on their own with minimal administrative assistance;
  • Major experience in contract negotiation as well as advisory/consultation is required;
  • Ability to create templates as well as processes involving day-to-day business and ensure minimal risk to the business;
  • Ability to juggle high volume and multiple projects, which will require timely decisions;
  • Customer/client-focused orientation;
  • Strong analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Excellent organizational skills, business judgment, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
