Job summary

PowerSchool Group LLC in Bengaluru is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure for our SaaS platforms. You will ensure availability, performance, and security, monitor incidents, and support CI/CD in a multi-cloud environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, relational and No-SQL databases, and automation, with opportunities to collaborate across product and engineering teams in a mission-driven education

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (demonstrable proficiency or professional experience preferred).
• Familiarity with Relational and No-SQL databases and basic database monitoring/troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with configuration management and orchestration technologies and techniques.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Familiarity with operating system administration.

Responsibilities

• Execute ticket triage, investigation and resolution of reported incidents.
• Troubleshoot application issues and engage Customer Support as needed to identify and resolve the issue.
• Troubleshoots problems with user accounts and application access.
• Perform daily system administration tasks to verify that all systems are up and running.
• Installation and configuration of software in cloud-based environments to ensure high availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application issues to ensure high availability, optimal performance and system responsiveness.
• Operate and maintain orchestration routines in production.
• Complete periodic application software updates and software version upgrades.
• Install and configure new customer environments as needed.
• Support product development teams in the delivery of CI/CD and provide templates for deployment and scaling.
• Perform root cause analysis for production issues related to infrastructure or deployment routines; remediate and implement preventative actions.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance when necessary and be part of 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Communicate effectively and work as part of a team to manage cloud-based systems.

Job Purpose:

This position, under the general direction of the Manager or Technical Lead, Cloud Operations, will be responsible for supporting cloud customers and be responsible, at varying levels, for software installations and configuration, continuous systems analysis, technical customer support, and systems administration for the SaaS server technologies used in a multi-cloud environment.

A Cloud Operations engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and best practices.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 year or less of relevant and related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• This position is subject to company on call policies which constitutes working hours outside of the normal workday as needed.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (demonstrable proficiency or professional experience preferred)
• Knowledge of Relational and No-SQL databases (demonstrable proficiency or professional experience preferred)
• Familiarity of configuration management and orchestration technologies and techniques
• Proficiency in one or more programming language
• Familiarity in operating system administration
• Ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions
• Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
