Job summary

Light & Wonder is seeking an Associate Back-End Software Engineer to join our Pune team. You will help develop and maintain our backend game engines for online slot games, collaborating with designers, mathematicians, and frontend developers.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of software development experience, strong Java knowledge (Java 17+), and a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Familiarity with Git, Jira, XML/JSON, and Agile practices is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of software development experience.
• Familiarity with Java 17 and above or another object-oriented programming language, with a strong understanding of OOP principles.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Good knowledge of design patterns and their appropriate use.
• Familiarity with XML and JSON formats.
• Experience with debugging tools and analyzing logs.
• Version Control Systems such as Git.
• Understanding of Agile software development and Jira.
• Familiarity with SSH and command-line tools.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and SQL queries.
