Job summary

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President – Credit Analysis Unit.

In this role, you will:
  • Work on various projects in the region. Work on complex / high profile transactions / NTB credit applications for Sectors (based on capacity and requirements)
  • Work closely with VPs on the regional CMB/GB migrations and assist with Subject matter experts inputs, documentation review, writing-up PLA, procedure documents etc.
  • Share Automation/streamlining/transformation ideas with the VL, with initial feasibility plan; Adoption is expected to be evidenced by demonstration as/if required. Track and assist team members’ idea implementation along with the CAU Innovation team
  • Demonstrate expertise in domain. Demonstrate regional expertise across sectors (Corp and FIG) and markets. Deliver training to the teams during the year and attend Future Skill trainings; disseminate learnings to team members; Share knowledge on nuances and capabilities
  • To ensure that the PLAs with the stakeholders regarding productivity, quality and turnaround time are met or exceeded. Build and maintain rapport with onshore teams including Project Felix stakeholders, Credit Risk, Business and Onshore teams
  • Staying abreast of latest guidelines and procedures, FIM and other regional policy guidelines, ensuring necessary guidance is provided to the team.
  • For sector cases, ensuring that all credit related systems are appropriately up-to-date, manage past dues for own portfolio and stay within the thresholds; coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that past dues are minimal/nil.
  • Demonstrate high standard of collaborative skills.
  • Closely work with the senior management team in implementing various strategic initiatives across CAU.
To be successful you will:
  • It is desirable that prospective candidates are highly self-driven with good sector & corporate banking knowledge along with various banking products and with a long-term aim of becoming sector specialists.
  • Highly customer oriented and delivering top quality customer service. Strong domain knowledge & diversified sector experience
  • Demonstrated ability to weave sectoral knowledge, credit policies and ongoing external events into a credit proposal. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; strong ability to portray a macro view and an eye for detail.
  • Candidate needs to have knowledge of credit systems and banking products. Must have a good understanding of end-to-end credit process and systems. Ability and orientation to innovate and implement initiatives. Candidate’s current/past profiles should have involved extensive interactions with diverse stakeholders.
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in Credit Analysis, Research, Corporate Banking backed by demonstrated analytical expertise and team management skills.
  • Hard-working, organized, diligent and above all a good team player. Exceptionally strong problem-solving and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Minimum education qualifications of the applicant: Post Graduation in Management, Finance, Economics, or equivalent such as a Chartered Accountant would be preferred. Candidates with CFA, FRM and other risk management qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Manage all elements of Operational Risk which includes aspects related to GSC Compliance, Data Protection, Health and Safety and Audit requirements. Foster a culture of compliance amongst the team members as regards Group Compliance Policy.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and contained within the Group Standards Manual and relevant Functional Instruction Manuals and Process Guidelines. Maintain high standards of professional conduct and be a role model for the team.
  • Need to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
