Job summary

ConveGenius Group seeks a senior public policy leader to build government relations and drive data-driven advocacy across education and skilling in India.

You will engage with central and state ministries, Sector Skill Councils, and industry bodies to shape programs and partnerships, ensuring alignment with education policy priorities and organisational goals.

Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters in Public Policy or related field.
  • Min 10 years of relevant experience in management consulting public policy, project management, or government engagement.
  • Past government engagement experience is essential.
  • Strong exposure to working with government ecosystems in education and/or skilling, vocational education, or workforce development.
  • Prior experience advising and managing relationships with senior bureaucrats (Secretary, Joint Secretary in Central Government, or Principal Secretary or above in state government) is essential.
  • Prior experience and understanding of leveraging tech products for social impact, or having developed tech products / DPGs.
  • Have driven data-backed advocacy efforts with senior ecosystem stakeholders to drive data-backed policy decisions.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong execution bias.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Data-driven, impact-oriented, and deeply committed to improving public skilling and employability outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with senior government officials and bureaucrats in central and state government ministries in education and skilling ecosystem.
  • Drive evidence-backed policy advocacy decisions in the education, skilling and TVET space.
  • Represent the organisation in strategic discussions with senior government stakeholders, relevant ministries, Sector Skill Councils, industry bodies, and employers across the skilling ecosystem.
  • Understand the Ministry of Education, and skill development department's priorities, decision cycles, and policy environments and align organisational efforts.
  • Publish articles to communicate impact and key insights from the organisation's work in the skilling domain.
  • Identify and shape growth opportunities across central, state governments and thematic areas.
  • Collaborate with leadership to co-develop program designs, proposals, and partnership models.
  • Lead impact articulation through clear frameworks for measurement, reporting, and documentation — with a sharp focus on education, skilling, placement, wage, and employability outcomes.
  • Engage with ecosystem organisations to broadbase policy recommendations and drive adoption.
  • Communicate insights, progress, and impact narratives effectively to both government and internal leadership.
  • Be ready to operate in ambiguous environments, chart your own way forward, and juggle multiple priorities.
