Job summary

XL Parts/The Parts House is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Chennai to oversee shipping, receiving and customer service within a fast-paced retail environment. You will manage orders, inventory, and cashier duties while ensuring a safe, clean store and warehouse.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of retail experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate drivers and daily operations. This is a full-time on-site role in a retail distribution setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of working in a retail environment.
• Must be highly motivated to provide superb customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass a criminal background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Shipping and receiving of merchandise.
• Assemble and fill customer orders to be delivered within a 45‑minute window.
• Inventory and cycle counts.
• Schedules contract drivers based on company needs.
• Answer customer questions and address complaints.
• Store opening and closing duties.
• Handle cash, cash counts, and deposits.
• Stock and pull parts.
• Answer phones and assist customers.
• Keep store/front counter clean and organized.
• Maintain safe warehouse environment.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for expediting shipments of parts sent and returned from or to XL Parts/The Parts House distribution center(s).

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Shipping and receiving of merchandise
• Assemble and fill customer orders to be delivered within a 45minute window
• Inventory and cycle counts
• Schedules contract drivers based on company business needs
• Answers customer questions and addresses complaints
• Store opening and closing duties
• Handles cash, cash counts, and deposits
• Stocks and pulls parts
• Answers phones
• Keeps store and front counter clean
• Keeps warehouse clean and provides a safe work environment

Requirements:

• High School Degree or GED
• 1 to 2 years ofworking in a retail environment
• Highly motivated to provide superb customer service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements :

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required.
