Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer - 3 for the Mumbai Coastal Road Project in India. You will assist the Resident Engineer, supervise construction on site, monitor contractor work to drawings and specs, and ensure safety and quality controls.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 12 years of experience, including 5 years in an AR/E role, and can coordinate with multiple stakeholders on complex civil works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (any discipline) required.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience with 5 years in AR/E supervision.
• Experience supervising on large highway/metro construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing construction activities on site.
• Monitors contractor work for compliance with drawings, specs, and standards.
• Conducts site inspections and supports quality control of materials and workmanship.
• Prepares site progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
• Coordinates with contractors, consultants, and project staff.
• Helps resolve technical and construction issues on site.
• Verifies measurements and quantities for billing and certification.
• Reviews shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
• Monitors HSE practices and environmental regulations.
• Maintains site records and documentation; participates in meetings.

We are seeking applications for the position of Assistant Resident Engineer - 3 for Mumbai Coastal Road Project.

Missions/Main Duties

• Assists the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing construction activities on site
• Monitors contractor’s work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards
• Conducts site inspections and assists in quality control of materials and workmanship
• Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports
• Coordinates with contractors, consultants, and other project staff
• Assists in resolving technical and construction issues on site
• Checks and verifies measurements and quantities of work done for billing and certification
• Supports in the review and approval of shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions
• Monitors safety practices and ensures adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
• Maintains detailed site records and documentation
• Participates in site meetings and progress reviews
• Assists in testing and commissioning activities
• Provides technical guidance to junior staff and site supervisors
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering is respective field
• Min 12 yrs professional experience with 5 yrs Relevant Experience as Assistant Resident Engineer.
