Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Kolkata, India, seeks an experienced MEP professional to manage the complete lifecycle of projects. You will oversee electrical, HVAC, fire alarm, plumbing and fire fighting systems, coordinating with vendors and clients to ensure design integrity and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years post-qualification experience and strong English communication. This role focuses on supervision of on-site MEP construction and design coordination within a consultancy

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous.
• Experience with a construction consultancy in India is preferred.
• 5–10 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of the project.
• Coordinate with multiple vendors on designs and specifications.
• Lead a team and supervise on-site MEP construction activities.
• Review and redesign all MEP drawings and material schedules.
• Coordinate electro-mechanical activities with client, consultant, suppliers & subcontractors at site.
• Provide interpretations of plans and specifications for MEP contractors.

Job Description

• Position is involved in the complete lifecycle of the project
• Thorough knowledge on Electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, plumbing & fire fighting
• Supporting technical design briefs, analyze designs, and coordinate with multiple vendors
• Experience in sustainability /LEED & other concepts
• Review MEP specifications, interpret contracts, and participate in technical & commercial negotiations with vendors
• Lead a team & be able to supervise & coordinate onsite MEP construction activities
• Review/analyze and re-design all MEP drawings & material schedules with involvement in supervision of the site activities and to control cost and ensure timely completion of the project
• Co-ordinate all electro-mechanical activities with client, consultant, suppliers, site engineers & various subcontractors at site. Checking and preparing VO, negotiation with Sub-con and Client
• Provide interpretations of plans, project scope, detail sheets, and specifications for our MEP contractors/ sub contractors and engineers to ensure a comprehensive and mutual understanding of the project plan

Should adhere to the company’s global environmental policy

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Qualification in relevant field would be an added advantage
• You should have relevant experience of working for a construction consultancy in India, be degree educated in a relevant construction subject and have good technical skills
• 5 - 10 years of post qualification experience in similar role
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
